How to Increase the Page Views of your Blog and Decrease Bounce Rate?
One of the major concerns of all the bloggers is how to increase the page views of their blog. Read on my blog on how to increase the page views of your blog.
Do you actually know the fact that bounce rate of your website is a crucial factor which can either boost or destroy the search engine ranking of your website?
Those who are not aware about bounce rate and what it is, can also check WikiPedia for Bounce Rate. Let me tell you about bounce rate in short, it is actually the exit rate of the visitor of your website. In simple language if a person lands to your website and exit from it without visiting to any other page of your website, then this visit will be known as a bounce of your website.
This way if 3 out of 5 visitors to your website bounce from your site then search engines will consider that the bounce rate of your website is 60%. Though bounce rate is a factor which depends on so many things, and no one can actually suggest what can be an ideal value for your website, but still normal perception is that the less value of it is better for any website.
How to Increase the Page Views of your Blog and Decrease Bounce Rate?
How to Increase the Page Views of your Blog and Decrease Bounce Rate?
Basically search engines these days emphasize so much on the factors like bounce rate, site loading time, time spent by the visitor on your website, etc. as I mentioned these in my last blog post on 5 predictions about blogging industry in 2015. Ideally if you increase the page views of your blog, your bounce rate will surely come down. It is as simple as that bounce rate of any website is inversely proportional to the page views of the same site.
You might ask me then how to increase the page views of our website?
Here are my responses:
Creative Writing
Creative Writing
Ideally the best way to increase the page views of your blog is to write blog posts of your site in a very creative way. You creativity is the glue which can actually bound your readers to your blog.
Truly speaking you must have realized it that some bloggers know this art in which they compel their readers to read their blog. They actually write the blogs in a very informative and creative way, which actually makes their posts interesting. On the other hand there are bloggers who actually share great blog posts, but unfortunately they failed to deliver it in the way which can attract their readers.
Now this is a point which might break the heart of many readers of this blog. You might tell me that does it means those who are not creative should not be a blogger or writer then?
Let me tell you, my intention was not that. I simply wanted to say that if you are not a creative person like me, when it comes about writing or blogging, then with time you can be able to develop the same inside you. It is also the same in which practice makes a person perfect.
The more you will write the more creativity will come into your writing.
So, those who think that if a person is not creative enough, and cannot become a good blogger or writer, are wrong.

Internal Linking
Internal Linking
You must have realized this fact that I use to share different links of my old blog posts in each new blog post of mine. Do you know the reason why?
It is actually a nice way to interact with your readers and suggest them the useful links which will force them to stay on your blog for a longer duration. It is a sure shot way to decrease the bounce rate of your website. Many a bloggers do this mistake of not including any link to their old blog posts. It is actually a wrong approach and should be avoided.

Highlighting Main Posts
Highlighting Main Posts
You must have noticed that while I use to give few links in between the blog post of mine, and I also use to highlight some popular blog posts of mine in the sidebar. Using the sidebar of your blog to highlight key posts of your blog which you think your visitors will find useful, is a great idea to increase the user engagement on your blog.
It is quite normal that if a person is visiting your blog he or she might be interested to read that particular blog only, thus it is quite obvious that he or she will jump out of your blog very soon they go through it. It is actually your duty to suggest them the important things of your blog so that they can be interested in reading all of them.

External Links
External Links
One common mistakes made by many blog and website owner is of giving links to other website. Though it is also true that external links are crucial from the SEO point of view, but while linking to them you should always remember the fact that those new links should either open in a new tab or a new browser only.
No matter if you are linking to the Facebook page of your blog or the twitter profile of yours, but still those links should always open in a new browser.

Excellent tips, Alok. I believe bounce rate of my Blog must be very high……
I found this post Very useful. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for laying things in such a simple way, Alok!
I did not know about Bounce rate – the term. Though I have wondered about the scenario. Recently, when I changed my theme to plain where the widgets can be accessed using a button, I was skeptical about the blog traffic and of course, the bounce rate. For the visitors wouldn’t be able to view the other posts that were earlier displayed in the sidebars. Now I got the answer. Planning to change my theme to one with visible sidebars asap.
A very helpful post Alok. I really have to work on my engagement with users and internal linking. Although I have done them in parts, I have never made a focused approach on it which has reduced my results. I guess I need to focus on these two aspects right away.
Also I wanted to ask you this, I currently have a page view of 9.9. What is a good page view amount? And how is 9.9 rated? Is it actually good or below average. What is the average I should be aiming to achieve?
Alok Bhai sahab I could not find your face book account, please advise your face account Id linked to inewsindia.
Dear Sampat Kumari jee, I do have a FB page and that is already linked to my site.
Nice Post.
Very well explained. π
