Is SEO Plugins of WordPress enough for the SEO of your Site?
Many people ask me that when they installed some SEO plugins on their WordPress website, so does it mean that they don’t need any additional SEO help. Is SEO plugins of WordPress enough for the SEO of your site? Read on this blog post of mine to understand if you should need to take the help of any SEO experts for the optimization of your website or only installing the SEO plugins is enough?
Many people especially bloggers who chooses WordPress for their blog has this misconception that with WordPress they can install any SEO plugins and their SEO requirements will be over. They can assume that SEO works in the way that you installed an SEO plugin and it is over.
As I said in my last blog post on is WordPress SEO Optimized, that being SEO friendly and being SEO Optimized is two entirely different set of attributes. And as WordPress is SEO friendly you cannot assume that your website is completely optimized the moment you installed WordPress on it.
Similarly you cannot assume that you installed a plugin for your website and it is fully optimized for different search engines. My dear friends, SEO doesn’t works in this way.
How Search Engine Optimization Works?
How Search Engine Optimization Works?
You might ask me this question, let me tell you all that SEO or Search Engine Optimization is not a process which works in this way. You installed a plugin for SEO purposes is the first step, but then you must need to configure so many things on your website so that it can become Search Engine optimized.
SEO is a continuous process, and am assuring that if you took the services of any SEO consultant for your website and configured everything for the first time; it would not even return you if you won’t continuously work on your website.
Let me suggest you two blogs of mine, one is on how search engines work and what exactly is SEO? I am sure these two blogs will be able to help you to understand these lines which I am saying over here.
Is SEO Plugins of WordPress is enough for the SEO of your Site?
Is SEO Plugins of WordPress is enough for the SEO of your Site?
Let us come back to our original discussion of is SEO plugins of WordPress enough for the SEO of your site? Let me tell you, no they are not enough for the SEO of your website. Though they will provide you an initial startup, but then with the help of that you must need to continuously work on your website to make it more valuable in the eyes of search engines.
One more thing, if you think that this particular SEO plugin is perfect, let me clear you all that there is no any such plugin which can cover all the elements of SEO. As in our life too we cannot find a single person who is a perfect one, but we can find some people who are near to that perfection level. So similar is the case with SEO plugins too.
Once you installed any plugin for the SEO purposes of your website, you must need to configure it properly and set all the basic things for your blog through it. Then the next step is to configure each and every posts and pages of your website and make it proper with the help of your plugin.
The next round which is an ongoing round is your continuous work with your new posts and pages which you will publish after installing this SEO plugin. Here are the steps which you need to follow before planning to write a new post or page for your blog:
- Think about a perfect keyword for your new article.
- Think about some related keywords relevant to your main keywords.
- Try to do research about them in Google keywords planner with your Google Adwords account.
- Try to search for their monthly searches average value from it; especially for the region in which you want to target it.
- Try to check the competition of it in Google by searching for it normally in Google, and searching for it with double quotes like “keyword”. You can also install Moz bar on your browser and you can see the DA and PA of the competition. Although I am not a believer that a less domain authority site would not be able to outrank a high DA site in Google search, it should only be relevant to the term and it should have some unique value for it.
- Then prepare the Title and Meta Description for your blog. Remember to have your main keyword in both of these fields.
- Make sure that you should not use more than 60 characters in Title and 160 characters in Meta Description, and it should also include the spaces too.
- Now prepare the post and try to make sub headings with the related keywords which you selected already.
- Make sure you should write a 600+ words article. If it is less then you should have some images, graphics, and videos to complete it.
- Once you finish writing your post, go with the premium options of CopyScape and search for the uniqueness of your write up. Always try to avoid any types of plagiarism with your post.
- Now try to publish it and make sure to use H1, H2 and H3 tags with your keywords in the post.
- Don’t forget to promote your posts in social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc.
- Try to influence others with the help of your post, so that they should refer it in their blog.
Though these were some of the basic things required for the SEO of your blogs, but still there are something’s which you might to know about managing the SEO of any WordPress site.
So Do I need an SEO Consultant or Not?
So Do I need an SEO Consultant or Not?
A few months back I wrote a blog on can I do SEO of my own website? Interesting thing is that many bloggers and website owners who use WordPress have thinking that they can easily manage the SEO of their website with the help of some WordPress SEO plugins. It is actually true too up to an extent.
But if you are thinking that only installing a SEO plugin will help you to do the search engine optimization of your website and you don’t even need the help of an SEO consultant, then I think you are wrong. You must need the help of a person who should know about the trends, what a search engine likes and dislikes and what things need to change on your website so that Google and other search engines should give value to your web pages.
Here are some considerations which you need to give with your WordPress sites when it comes for the SEO of it, no matter if you are relying on any SEO plugin or on any SEO consultant for it:
Site Loading Time
Site Loading Time
Do remember that there are so many factors which impact the site loading time, in normal case it remains the web hosting and its performance, but in case of a WordPress site if you are installing or adding any new plugin or removing some plugin, or changing the theme of your site then there are chances that your site loading time might change incredibly. Remember upgrading things like plugins, themes, and core WordPress as well might changes the coding part of your website which might impact the SEO of your blog.
Focusing Content
Focusing Content
Normally it is considered that blogs are personal websites where people use to share their thought. So people ignore doing keyword research before creating a new blog post. Optimizing your content based on some specific keywords which should be found out by doing keyword research, can be the secret of your blog, be it a professional one or a personal one.
Bounce Rate
Bounce Rate
When it comes to the SEO of any blog, one thing which every blogger should take care of is monitoring the bounce rate of their blog. Remember if it is more than 80% then it is an alarming condition for you. It means that you are unable to produce engaging content.
On the other hand if it is somewhere near to 60 to 80% then still you have scope to develop your blog writing ability. And if it is less than that then you can be happy, though you should always try to improve it as much as possible.
Bounce rate simply means that if a person is visiting a page of your site and either closes the browser or returns to the previous site from where he reached to that particular page without visiting any other page of your blog or site, then it will be considered as a bounced visit. A bounce rate is like out of 100 visitors how many bounced from your site. Let’s say it is showing as 68, it simply means out of 100 visitors to your website 68 people are those who jump out of your site from the page on which they landed upon. It is a clear indication that you should optimize your site so that people should stay for some other useful stuff.
So these were some of my thoughts on is SEO plugins of WordPress enough for the SEO of your site, along with some of the SEO considerations which you should need to take care of for a WordPress site. Please do let me know your thought on this blog post of mine and what are you thinking about these things. I would be happy to discuss about it if something interesting can come out of our discussion and should benefit the readers of my blog.
