10 SEO Trends and Predictions for 2015!
SEO in 2013 and 2014 was not that much good, as things were not easily predictable to webmasters. Lately Search Engine Optimization is changing its form, so here is a post on 10 SEO Trends and predictions for 2015.
Being an SEO many people do ask me if SEO is going to dead. Honestly people are asking this to me since the first rollout of Panda and Penguin updates. It was a normal conception that both these updates are going to kill SEO.
No doubt, these two updates created havoc in webmasters and SEO’s but honestly speaking those who got affected because of it were the people who were not at all about the basics of SEO. To be very frank, the day I joined SEO industry way back in 2004 the first thing which I came to know is about making quality website and getting quality links for it.
This was so simple and well emphasized by Google since then, but no one cared about it. People started copying content from different websites and building as many links as possible for their site.
Ultimately Google came up with harsh things to penalize those websites and stop those malpractices. I am sure most of the people were aware of all those things.
SEO Trends 2015
SEO Trends 2015
Although it is hard to predict anything about ever changing SEO scenario, but let me tell you about a few SEO trends which will certainly impact the ranking of your website in the year 2015. You all should remain prepared for facing these things:
Be Mobile Friendly
Be Mobile Friendly
A few days back I posted a blog on be ready to face Google penalty for non-mobile-friendly websites, and a few days after posting it, Google started displaying texts of Mobile Friendly sites on mobile searches. I am glad that both my main blogs I News India and Tech Acid are getting the same badge from Google in mobile search.
Although as I already mentioned in effective SEO tips for 2014 as well that mobile searches are increasing exponentially and will soon take over the normal PC searches. It is still true and being a site owner if you are ignoring it, then you are making a blunder.
If you want to get success in search engines ranking in the coming year 2015 then you must need to focus on making your website as mobile friendly site. You can either go with a responsive design (also read SEO benefits of Responsive Design) for your blog or you can develop a light version of your website for mobile browsers, which can load faster.
Be Faster
Be Faster
As I said in the point above that your website should load faster. I must predict that Google will soon kill those websites which are taking hell lot of time to load. No matter which browser of platform are you using but if you want to survive in this world then your website should be faster one to load.
No one waits for a few minutes to let your page load. These days almost we all have a faster internet connection, so Google and other search engines as well are too keen to thumbs up those websites which are faster compared to some other websites.
Focus on Title and Meta Description
Focus on Title and Meta Description
I already mentioned about the importance of these two tags in so many posts over here. Honestly in 2015 you cannot expect anything else so important than these two as far as the On Page Optimization is concerned. You simply need to focus about creating unique, interactive and purposeful title and Meta Description for each pages of your website.
Do remember the fact that considering that a particular page on your website is noindexed, you can put anything on it, but now Google is reading and considering those pages as well in the ranking factors of your website. So the moment you are planning to load some page on your live website, let it be ready with unique content and Title and Meta Descriptions.
Focus on Canonical URL
Focus on Canonical URL
Content duplicity is very much required to avoid on any website. 2015 will definitely have all the focus towards getting rid of duplicate content. Site which will somehow found publishing duplicate content on their site will get penalization from search engines.
Top protect the same you must need to use the Canonical URL for each of the page on your website. You can use it in this way:
<link rel=”canonical” href=”That_Page_URL” />
This will clearly tell Google or any other search engines that this particular content of your website is a duplicate of that page URL. Let’s say you are having two pages A and B, and B is a copy of A, and then use this tag on the header section of page B, pointing a That_Page_URL as of page A.
Also if you are using the same URL for the same page, then Google will clearly get an idea that this page is not having any duplicate page on this site.
Focus on Header Tags
Focus on Header Tags
If you ask me the things which will trend in the year 2015 as far as SEO is concerned, then I must say that header tags like H1, H2, H3, etc. will become too crucial during coming year. If you are not taking them seriously on your website, then it is the right time to think about them on your website.
Try to make one (only one) H1 tag, which should be your primary keyword, on all the pages of your website. Also remember that the same page should not have more than one H1 tag, and more than 2-3 H2 tags.
Going further down you can have any number of H, H4, H5, and H6 tags on any page of your website, but you should take care that it should not be so many in a page.
Try to separate the content of your page into headings and sub-headings. You can make those heading and sub-heading with the help of header tags. Make sure that header tags should be present in the post.
Focus on Interactions
Focus on Interactions
Interactivity on your website is a must as far as SEO in 2015 is concerned. Google already emphasized on the needs of user interactions on any website in the year 2014 only and I am quite sure that they will take it to the next level in coming year.
Don’t know how many times I emphasized on developing interactive content on your blog and website, reason being I can sense that Google is giving preferences to such websites which has higher user interactions.
Focus on Visual Content
Focus on Visual Content
Gone are the days when plain text was important to rank your website. It is the age of visualization, and Google is not far behind this concept. I am pretty sure that in year 2015 Google will emphasize on visual content than plain text.
Having videos, info-graphics and graphics are now so important for the ranking of a particular page. This is the reason why people are chattering that blog is almost going now, and vlogs are taking over them.
Focus on Real Content
Focus on Real Content
When I say real content, it is not something which you should take as real and fake, but it is like Google should understand that some real person are behind developing the content for a website.
You should use your content in a way that you can prove to Google that you are a real person. It is a thing which we SEO are telling it from the very beginning that content is the king and it should be unique, informative, interactive and engaging as well.
Don’t Hide Content
Don’t Hide Content
Hidden content are something which Google hates badly. Recently Google gave a hint that you should not even hide content in expendable areas as well. You will find many websites where you can get some content is present on a page, but you can be able to see them only when you click on particular thing.
You can though send your visitor to a different page when they clicked on that read more buttons, but you should not expand the same page and then let the user read them.
So, if you too have such content on your website, convert them in to static pages, so that Google should be able to read them properly.
Protect Your Site from Negative SEO
Protect Your Site from Negative SEO
It was the very beginning of the year 2014 only when I predicted about the needs of protecting your website from negative SEO. It can be possible that you are indulging in negative SEO things unknowingly and can face Google Penalty as well. On the other hand chances are also there that your competitor might also come up with something’s which can impact badly on the ranking of your website in search engines.
This is the reason why only developing a great website is not important but you should need to protect your site from negative SEO as well. For this the Google Disavow links tool plays a very important role. You can also read my blog on how to deal with negative SEO.
Although we know that things in SEO changes drastically at any moment, but I am quite sure that all these 10 trends and predictions of mine will remain same in the year 2015 and coming years as well. Please don’t hesitate in sharing what you think about these 10 SEO trends of the year 2015.
