I completely agree Alok.. Education is the life blood of the youth in India and it is very unfortunate that it is being targeted towards the vocational front over the research front. I agree that the IIT’s are without doubt the best of the institutes in the country but I would still say that even they have a long way to go. I myself was a guest faculty at the IIT chennai facility and also a few very close friends of mine are from there. Unfortunately the trend even there is the same nowadays. I guess maybe with time the research focus might also pick up 🙂
