  1. I have all reasons for using WordPress…thanks to you.

    1. Thank you so much Shweta 🙂

  2. Well Alok I’m not a supporter of self hosting unless you want to monetize from your blog. If you’re simply blogging for hobby or making friends then there’s no need to pay for own domain and hosting price.

There are mainly two ways of building traffic: SEO & Relationship. Well self hosting is good from SEO point of view but You can earn a good traffic from Building Relationship too.

The only benefit I found on wp self hosting is of some useful plugins such as Yoast & others.

Overall a nice and useful info for those who wanna be a Professional Blogger.

    1. You are a bit right Ravish, but I don’t agree with your opinion on “If you’re simply blogging for hobby or making friends then there’s no need to pay for own domain and hosting price.” Honestly if you are paying for your own domain name and web hosting then it is not at all a waste. I mean if you are not even planning to monetize your blog, but still a blog is an identity of yours and I don’t think that anyone will ever remember a domainname.wordpress.com or domainname.blogspot.com, while the same people will definitely remember a domainname.com or domainname.in.

So in my opinion investing on a domain name and hosting is like investing on your own web identity…

BTW thanks Ravish 🙂 I am glad that you liked this blog post of mine…

  3. Based on the feedback I have received for WordPress, I have recommended it to newbies 🙂
Actually, when we are new, we have not much idea & sign up in whatever we come across, unless we get expert help/info 🙂

    1. Absolutely right Anita. When I started blogging I was not at all aware about it and I did learned from my own experiences and through other blogs… But whatever my experience is that, I can say based on that WordPress is the best…. 🙂 Thanks Anita for your comment over here.

  4. Gooo WordPress ! :). I have also been a staunch supporter of wordpress Alok. Although I started with blogspot , i quicky moved to wordpress mainly cos of its look and feel. It makes the readability so good and the integration of various things and plug ins to the site is really nice and simple and doesnt affect the looks at all 🙂

    1. Absolutely right Vinay, we all started our blogging career with blogspot only, reason being blogger do provide the free and the best and simplest blogging platform. But once I came through it, I realized that if you have to build a mark in this field then you must need to have a unique identity of yours. And soon I started with WordPress and enjoying it from last 7 years.

  5. I love using WordPress. It is intuitive, user-friendly and really wonderful. I love the self-hosted WP blog which allows you to almost do just about anything with your blog. I switched from blogger to WP as well a couple of years back. Nice post,

    1. Great Rachna, I am delighted that you like WordPress too and love self hosted WP blogs 🙂 Thanks Rachna for supporting my opinion…

  6. I agree with Alok bhai Sahab that word press is a better choice. I am interested too but I think word press needs more skills.

    1. Dear Sampat Kumari jee, it is not like that. I already mailed you about it, but did not received any response from you. In fact WordPress is the most simplest blogging platform, even simpler than BlogSpot too 🙂 You can also use it quite easily…

I already have years old blog on blogspot and regret never having used wordpress. But now I started a new blog on wordpress and everything looks so perfect on the website.
My questions is how do i change my web address to wordpress from blogspot? Must be a complicated process or is it even worth it?

    1. As discussed Sonia, I hope you must have gone through the process.
