Quick Interview Tips for Job Seekers!

You know the most important thing which a job seeker needed is the confidence. I haven’t yet met someone who won’t be a bit nervous on the D day. Here are some quick interview tips for job seekers.

I won’t tell lie, but I usually take interviews as a normal conversation. I don’t feel the stress behind but yes it is also true that I too become nervous a few times. While I have taken so many interviews that the fever of interview has gone out of my heart.

Not everyone is as lucky as I am. I got the chance to lead an IT company just after the two years of my working experience; in fact recruited the employees for that company and helped them to establish. I started my working career in October 2004 only and became manager in a small IT company in December 2006 only.

So I was quite lucky who got such experience so quickly and hence you can say that the fear of interviews is out of my mind now. But then I have seen many candidates who became too nervous during an interview.

For them to face the interviewer become a tough choice. And hence I decided to come up with this blog post.

Some Quick Interview Tips for Job Seekers!

I still remember that during my last company I took an interview for the post of SEO Executive and the guy who came for the interview was too nervous. Although his knowledge about the SEO was a bit less than what we were expecting but the way the interviews was turning on gave me the direct hint that it will harm his confidence in future interviews.

Being the interviewer I managed to make him relax and then I clarified his issues regarding SEO industry. In fact I told him clearly that I am not going to hire you at the moment but yes I would be happy to see him growing as an SEO. The person left quite happily as he was satisfied with the way I cleared his doubts and he added me on LinkedIn and FB very soon and he is a good friend of mine today.

Confidence is the Key

Undoubtedly many people say that confidence is the key in an interview. Confidence is something which no one can create or develop inside you. It is you only who need to work on your self confidence. Though I have written so many blogs on gaining confidence, but if you ask me my favorite blog on how to gain confidence then you can check this blog written by Divya on 11 ways to gain confidence.

I think if you follow these tips then you can easily be able to get rid of the insecurities inside you which is stopping you from being confident.

No matter how limited experience you have about any particular thing, always remain confident about whatever you know and there is absolutely no harm in accepting the fact that you don’t know. It is quite common that you might forget about some questions and you can explain the same to the interviewer that you are aware about it but not getting it rightly at the moment.

It will surely increase your points in front of interviewer. Interviewers don’t like irrelevant responses.

No Mistakes in Resume

Resume is one of the most important things as far as an interview is concerned. The candidate should always make sure that there should not be any mistake in the resume. You should also make sure that there should not be any unnecessary information in the resume. Unnecessary lengthy resumes too sound poor to employers.

Try to develop a short and crisp resume which can attract the interviewer’s attention and give them the chance and scope to discuss the same to you Face-to-face.

Experience and Academic Background

Well, if you ask me for me these things never matter a lot. Talent is something which is very much required than experience and academic background. Try to display the same to the interviewer. Give them a few points about what changes you can bring in the organization and what benefits they will have if they hire you.

Honestly I do prefer bringing young bloods in any organization as they remain enthusiastic about doing things. Plus they come up with new ideas which are very much required in the growth of any organization.

As per one of my blogger friend Payal, “few people try to include more and more experience in their CV, whether it is of 2 months only in any company; as they think it will benefit and count in their experience. But they just forget that it might be a doubt on their stability in company.” So I would suggest everyone to remove such short lived experiences from their resume, unless and untill it is quite important to show.

Presentable Personality

When I say presentable personality it simply means a combination of your dressing sense, confidence, attitude and manners. Dressing sense is the back bone of your success. Dressing sense will also increase your confidence level as well. You can also check one of my blog on how to prepare your outlook for an interview, I think it is among one of my own favorite blog.

Well, it is also true that mostly girls make mistake with the dressing sense. Sometimes they think that if they look bold, they will be easily hired but it is not true. Why to choose a very bold western dress for an interview, you can come up with a simple dress, wearing which can fill up you with confidence.

Your attitude, manners, talking style, confidence, etc. are all matters in an interview and clubbed with your dressing sense these can easily help you to grab the offer.

Positive Energy & Punctuality

Positive energy and punctuality; these are two main ingredients which I always looked for in a person who could become a colleague of mine in future. A negative person will always try to make others negative as well; on the other hand a positive person will always try to make others confident and positive in nature as well.

Though identifying people filled up with positive energy is really difficult. You can easily check the punctuality of a person but how will you check if the person has positive energy or negative one?

Those who initiate sugar-coated conversation and focus on doing buttering of the interviewers are dangerous for the company culture in future. Being an interviewer I would never prefer hiring such guys.

Show Your Ambition

You will be surprised to hear this but it’s true that every interviewer gives you the chance to show your aspiration and ambition. If you are an ambitious person then only interviewer will think about you that you can look forward to the company.

So it is advised to show your ambition and aspiration, but do not ever cross the limit. Being over-ambitious is also dangerous and no one will like it.

So these were some of the tips which I can give to any job seeker, hope these tips are useful for them. You can also read one of my old blog on how to prepare yourself for job interview. Although I have given so many tips in this blog, but in addition I would also like to give an additional tips to all the readers of my blog.

The best quality which any interviewer looks in a candidate is that whether the person is a team player or not. If you don’t have this quality none of the company will show any interest in hiring you.

The best thing which a job seeker can do is to show the interviewer that you are a family person and attached to your roots. This will clearly give the idea that you are a team player. To be very frank a company is also like an extended family and if you don’t have the family values, how will you mix with teams in the company?
