How to Write an Eye Catching and Great Blog Post?
Those who do blog always want to write blogs which can attract many visitors. Delivering that eye catching and a great blog is not that much easy. Read on this blog post of mine on how to write an eye catching and great blog post?
Each time I sit down to write a new blog post, I always try to make it usable for my readers. I always plan up to give some information to my readers which I might not have given earlier. Blogging in itself is an art. It’s an art to touch the heart of your readers.
It is an art through which you can win the heart of many new visitors as well, while you are already winning the heart of your repeated visitors.
There are always some essential things of a blog which truly gives it a professional look and an eye catching factor which makes it a great blog post.
Do you know what those elements are?
Let me tell you all about those elements which can give that extra edge to your blog post:
The most important element behind the success of any blog post is its title and headlines. Undoubtedly before anyone actually read your blog post, they are bound to see the title of your blog post first. Not only that there are many people out here who simply want to go through the headlines and main points of your blog post to decide whether it is a good post to read or not.
Those visitors can decide the quality of your blog post based on the headlines and bullet points which you are going to use on your blog post. Thus for those segment of readers, the fate of your blog lies on the catchy titles and headlines only.
Though I myself is not good at making superb titles and headlines, but all the bloggers should always have eye catchy titles and headlines to make their blog post as a great one.
You all have noticed that I write the first paragraph of each of my blog posts as a different one. Normally it is the summary of the blog post, in which you already describes what you are going to serve your visitors in the post.
Honestly many expert bloggers suggests that if a reader or visitor has read your first 2-3 lines, there are chances that those visitors will be going to read the entire post. So opening the blog post with a bang is a must.
I am not at all hesitant to accept the fact that it is an art which I myself is still learning and hopefully one day I can be able to deliver it properly.
This is not only important for your visitors, but also for the search engines. Use of image in a blog post is a must. Not only this, you should also know the use of alt tags along with images so that search engines can also be able to read the content behind the images.
As you all know that readers can see the image and understand its use, but search engines won’t be able to read the images without the alt tag. So use of image along with alt tag is an essential thing to make your blog a successful one.
Honestly blogs with attractive images attracts more likes and shares in social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ and especially in Pinterest. Thus your blog will attract more back links and thus higher visibility and thus more visitors.
As I mentioned in the first point only that there are many visitors who will decide the fate of your blog post based on headlines and sub-headlines of your blog post. Not only this, but proper segmentation of your blog posts along with headlines, bullet points, images, graphics, quotes, tables, charts, etc. makes it more attractive and easier to read.
Thus every blogger should understand the use of headlines and sub-headlines in their blog post and their importance behind the success of your blog post.
You can get many articles, blogs, pages for the topic on which you are writing your blog. But then your own opinion about those things is something which matters a lot and which actually stands behind your blog and makes it your own.
Always give your personal touch behind each of your blog post. How come a reader of my blog understands that this particular blog is being written by Alok Vats, or it is a guest blog written by someone else?
I guess it is my writing style which is known to the regular readers of my blog, thus they can even recognize me as the author if I do publish a blog on some other blog as well.
Honestly never be too shy to show your personality in your blog post.
Now this is a tip which is generally used for the search engines, but it is very much required even for the readers of your blog.
Being a blogger you should know the proper use of header tags like H1, H2, H3, etc. on your blog post, and you should also know how to use the tags like Bold, Italic, and Underline for different points on your blog.
These are the things which can make your blog post as an attractive one.
You all must have noticed the use of internal linking in my blog posts. This is a way to give search engine boost to your older blog posts, not only that it is a way to engage your readers. Thus try to provide the links of your old and relevant blog posts so that users can remain engaged to spend more and more time on your site.
Not only that, internal linking will help the readers of your blog to stay connect with you.
Other than these 7 important tips, I must give a very important tip for you. Always try to learn how to write blogs which can be liked by your reader base. I mean to say that try to write posts which exactly your readers and visitors want to read. I guess I mentioned it already in one of my blog post on the best SEO advice to any blog. Hope you should like it as well.

Never really know the importance of H1, H2 and H3…in SEO world! Some of these points are very relevant and helpful for me to make it more SEO friendly. Thanks again Alok.
Thank you so much Vidhya 🙂 I am glad that you liked this blog post of mine.
Thanks Alok, This is a very important post and an engaging one as well. I learnt from you the use of headings and sub headings. I however havent started the use of H1 H2 headings. I thought they were mostly for editor styles and appearance. Does it affect the seo too?
As for the images, I have started using the alt tags now and for the first time in months, the search engine visits are increasing which is an amazing sign, hope to work on it further and make it better 🙂
Great to hear that Vinay. You are the one who is accepting that you are getting benefits from my SEO suggestions. But yes when I said you to use heading n sub-headings on your post I guess I told you to use header tags only.
Try to use maximum one or less H1 tags, maximum two or less H2 tags, and a few H3 tags on your each blog. Make sure there should not be more than one H1 tags on your post, and use keywords in these tags.
Hope it should even return you better rankings.
Excellent post for all the beginners. A few useful tips for the established bloggers too.
Thank you so much Sibichen, I am glad that you liked this blog post of mine 🙂 Thank you so much for your comment 🙂
Good points well presented 🙂 Alok why not H1 tag more than once I often use it with CSS to look it normal. Is it going to put adverse SEO effect on my blog?
Yes Ravish, it will put adverse SEO effect on your blog. Look wise it might look better, but you know it is like using “Bramhashtra” and you can use it once only on one page. If you are using more than once it might be considered as over optimization. Now it is a term from which Google want to keep a distance from. So be cautious buddy, don’t do over optimization in any case on your blog. Using H1 tags for more than once is like doing over optimization only.
H1, H2 and H3 and SEO never knew of it. Thanks for the post. I sometimes shy away from using illustrations and pics A good advice that one.
Thank you so much Datta 🙂 Yes header tags like H1, H2, H3, etc. plays a very crucial role in SEO…. 🙂
Alok, excellent article. It will help many blog owners and webmasters. The title is of course the most important thing to attract new visitors and the next important factor is pictures in the article.
Thank you so much Kushal, yes it is true that title and pictures in the articles, plays a very encouraging role in making an eye catching and great blog posts. 🙂 I am glad that you liked it.
This post will really help bloggers to attract more traffic for their blog post. Your all post , i recently read are really very impressive and works as a guide for new as well as established bloggers.
Thank you so much Yogi Saraswat jee 🙂 It certainly gives the satisfaction when readers like your blog posts.
That’s very interesting Alok. The H1 H2 tags however look very big on my site, I have tried and used H4 on my latest article today. Does that help? I have about 10-12 of these points in H4, do you think it is a bad practice? Thing is most of my posts say 10 points and hence there would usually be about 10 things with the same header tag. What would be the best way to approach this?
Not at all Vinay, you can use all the main points of your blog in H4 or H5 as well. See as I said H1 is the most important portion, and it should not have two H1 on one page of your site, then comes the H2, which should also be not more than 2 or maximum 3, and then you can have H3 and H4, H5, and H6.
When you are giving H4 to any important point of your post, you are already telling everyone that this point is important than other texts of your post. So there is no harm in doing so.
Interesting 🙂 couldn’t help noticing comments appearing as “45 years ago” — any mystery behind it 😕
Thank you so much Nandini for pointing the issue to me. Actually I too noticed it last night and am in discussion with the theme developers. It is a bug actually and we are trying to rectify it, hopefully we can be able resolve it soon 🙂
I had no option but to glance through the previous comments before i reached the comment tab.. I too haven’t used h1, h2 tags…although i know they mean header one header two….and the size decreases as it goes downward (correct me if i am wrong)…but i don’t know how to implement or apply them in my blog!!! however, this post was engaging…i agree that the title and beginning should be catchy; this makes the reader read the entire post!!!
You are right about H1 and H2 tags Shahen. I normally feel that the readers will be interested in reading the conversations other readers are having with the blow owner, before sharing their comments, and hence this system is there.
Shahen using H1 and H2 tags is quite easy, though it depends on the CSS settings of your blog that how will it’s output will be on your blog. Let’s say you want to make a text I News India as an H1 or H2 tag, you just need to put this in between <> (H1 inside <>) and it’s closing tag i.e. <> (/H1 inside <>), or <> (H2 inside <>) and it’s closing tag i.e. <> (/H2 inside <>).
Example of H1 Tag:
I News India
Example of H2 Tag:
I News India
I hope this way you can be able to use them. Please remember that you need to give it into the HTML editor of your blog…
Thank you…I’ll try hand al
Thanks a lot Shahen 🙂
Alok Bhai sahab I write posts in MS Word and make changes like font size bold etc. in MS Word and then upload them to my blog. Is it harmful or a bad practice.
Dear Sampat Kumari jee, I guess it is a wrong way to do so, what I do suggest you is to copy and paste the content on notepad and then paste on your editor and then format it as per your need. Pasting from MS Word, brings some unnecessary set of codes with it. We should avoid this method.
