Why Do I Need Search Engine Optimization?
The most common question which any website owner or blog owner asks is why do I need Search Engine Optimization or SEO of my website? Why can’t Google find out my site without SEO? Read on this blog post of mine on why do I need search engine optimization?
Do you remember that last week I started a series of SEO Tutorials? The first post of it was what exactly is SEO? And to continue the same series, here is my second post of the same.
This time I am going to discuss why do a website need SEO or search engine optimization? To be very frank, you own a website, you know it, even your friends and a few relatives of yours know it. They might be visiting it too. But then how will others come to know about it?
Let me give you an idea.
As we discussed in our last blog on what exactly is SEO that it is a process of increasing the visibility of your website in search engines, and throughout the World Wide Web. Many people confuses SEP as a process to increase traffic to their website, though in my opinion it is a process to make your website better for your visitors and search engines as well.
Ultimately with the help of SEO the traffic to your website will increase, since you will make your website better; not because you will do things which cannot make your site better in the eyes of your visitors and search engines as well and hence increase the traffic on your website.
This is the biggest question which comes in the mind of any website owner or blog owner. Why does my website need search engine optimization or SEO? After all I do have such a nice website and hence why do I need SEO?
Honestly the word of web works on search engines. There was a time when people use to visit web directories to get websites of their need. With time web directories lost its charm, they do have very limited things on their site, so soon people started looking towards search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. to search things.
Soon Google became the king of the search market. With their up-to-date, spam-free, informative results, they overtook the search engines like Bing and Yahoo. Though these days influence of social media sites increased a lot in the life of the internet users, but still primarily search engines are meant as the best source of traffic.
So, as I was discussing that you have a website, and some of your friends and a few relatives of yours know about it. How will others know about it?
Unless and until search engines crawl and index your website, they won’t feature you on their search results.
To speed up this process, and to let them know about your website or blog in a proper manner, is the prime work of an SEO.
An SEO do the improvements on your website which can tell search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. that your website deals with these things, and they should index your site for these many categories.
This way when some users search for the relevant things they will be able to reach to you.
The work of an SEO doesn’t ends over here only. He brought your website on search results pages of search engines, and users can be able to see it, but does it means that the work of the SEO is over? No, it is not.
The moment a user clicks on your sites link on search engines, the work of the SEO started from there as well. The SEO should also need to satisfy the users who are visiting your website.
This is the reason why I always suggest everyone to hire best quality SEO’s to get the best results. Though those who think that results will start showing the day next to the day when they hire an SEO like me, then I would suggest them to work on the SEO of their website by them only.
They have the ability to bring results overnight. Then why to waste time in contacting an SEO and setting up things which the SEO asked for?
To be very frank, search engines algorithms are too smart these days. Gone are the days when they can be fooled with either making changes in Meta Data, or getting some links for your website. Now a day you need to constantly update your website with the latest things going on in the world of SEO industry.
How can you configure about what new things are coming up in SEO?
No doubt that search engines are updating their algorithms strictly these days, reason being they all want to display quality results to their users. So, the companies or websites which are hiring good quality SEO’s are getting an upper hand compared to those who are not.
This is the reason why a company or website owner or a blog owner should hire an experience SEO for their websites.
Let me close this second tutorial on SEO over here only; hope you all liked this blog post. Let me also tell you one thing quite clearly, it is not always true that you must need an Search Engine Optimizer to optimize your website, you too can be able to do so but then you must need the guidance of an SEO so that you can be able to come up to the best things which can make your website a better ranking.
Honestly not many people are aware about the mistakes which they make with their website and thus lose all the hard earned traffic and rankings of their website. I do honestly become angry to them when they handover their website to me once the damage was done. To rectify the damage is a very difficult thing.
Do let me know your opinion about this blog post of mine, or about the SEO tutorial which I started from last week. Do you think it is worthy for you? Do you think investing time in reading these SEO tutorials is worthy for you? Do share whatever you think about these blog posts of mine.

Dear I B Arora sir, I am also a regular visitor of your blog, you are already doing good, as far as blogging concerned, but yes, certainly there are so many improvements which are required on your blog. Please do connect with my mail id vatsalok@gmail.com to discuss about these things further. 🙂 The first suggestion which I would give to you is to have a domain name for your blog. Having your own identity is very much required.
Great start up post on SEO, would this be a series Alok. No I am not hinting at getting free SEO tips or main things to look out for that me impact SEO negatively (read, yes it would be a great freebie). All in all super posts both of them.
Yes Shweta, it will be a weekly series. With the help of this series of SEO Tutorials, I hope I can be able to provide the best information about SEO to you and all others. Thank you for your support. 🙂
Cool SEO tutorial, congrats! You should write more though 🙂
I learned some new things, but I’m wondering if I won’t hurt my website if I try to optimize it myself (with little knowledge) instead of hiring a professional?
Thank you so much Sam 🙂 I try to write more, but 🙂
Anyways thanks for your comment. See hiring a professional is better than doing experiments with your website, if you are planning to develop it in a huge way. If you simply want to learn things then you can do anything with it.
