The identity of any blogger is the domain name of their blog. Ideally it should be unique, descriptive, short, sexy, memorable and relevant to the industry or niche on which you are blogging.

Unfortunately many bloggers prefer to use free domain names for their blog, which is not at all a professional approach. Honestly when you are blogging on a casual basis then using free domain names like yourblogname.blogspot.com or yourblogname.blogspot.in or yourblog.wordpress.com etc. are fine, but when you decided to take your blog to an enhanced level, you must need a professional layout. If they cannot be able to memorize your blog’s domain name they won’t feel any association with your blog.

Certainly having an odd domain name will cut off your relationships with your blog readers; which I doubt any blogger would love to.

Keyword Rich Domain Name 

Second thing which you can follow while deciding domain name to your blog is to make it a keyword rich domain name. Although keywords in your domain name has not very much impact on the rankings of your blog, but then certainly it is a signal on which your website’s ranking depends on, so you cannot simply ignore it.

Try to put the main primary keywords of your blog into the domain name of your blog.

Unique Domain Name 

Many bloggers prefer having a unique term for their domain name. As per an example my domain name is inewsindia.com which is a unique term decided by me. You can also have any such domain name for your blog’s domain name.

This will certainly give an upper hand to your blog.

The last and the most common approach towards booking a domain name is to book domain name based on either your name or your brand name as well.

This is one of the most common ways to book domains for your blog.
