  1. Nice Alok! This is a real good intro for the SEO newbies like me. Even today I think of SEO of a way to increase my site traffic, I think I have some food to rethink now :).. I am kinda liking the idea of an SEO and it is making me respect the whole stream of internet and website building a lot more than I used to 🙂 .. All thanks to you buddy 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Vinay. Yes you are absolutely right. SEO is much more than bringing traffic to a website. If you go deep inside SEO you will surely love all its aspects. Don’t worry I will bring all the colors of SEO soon.

  2. Great enlightenment for me as I used to think SEO means increasing traffic for a site … 😛 you’re doing a great job helping us immensely with all these stuff…. 🙂 Thanks a lot…

    1. Thank you so much Maniparna. I am glad you liked my efforts. 🙂

  3. A very fundamental and humanistic definition. Alok, allow me to divert a little bit from the topic. I read a blog of yours regarding broken link. Technocrati is now in new avatar; in that case what has happened to the links submitted there? Is there any way to know whether they are active or have become broken? 🙂

    1. Dear Ravish, you asked a good question. Actually with Technorati in a new form, old Technorati links of our blog has become obsolete now. If we have given any link to those pages on our blog it will surely be a broken link now. So better is to remove the same from our blog.

I suggested a broken link check plugin on that post, that is the best way to know whether any link is broken or not. When you install that plugin on your blog, they will give you a report for analysis, and if you have a link to Technorati on your blog, it will be displayed as a broken one.

  4. Thanks Alok for the valuable information. Fortunately I submitted my link there not linked Technorati to my blog. 🙂 I’ve asked the issue in public interest inspired by your philosophy of helping others. In that post, you’ve mentioned about WordPress plugin. Is there any plugin for Google platform too apart from Google webmaster tool? I believe you are the fittest person to say on this having more than a decade experience in SEO field.

    1. Thank you so much Ravish, but then Google don’t provide any plugin for this, GWT is the best option to check, but then honestly the Borken Link Checker plugin which I mentioned on that post is an awesome tool. You can get all the information about any broken links of your website through it.

And thanks for asking questions for public interest 🙂 It is truly a great initiative 🙂

  5. An excellent article. Almost all the doubts of the readers about a SEO must be cleared.

    1. Thank you so much Sampat Kumari Jee 🙂

  6. I Came here following the link on your latest post on indiblogger ! Its so clear now.. I agree with you about the off page optimization and that one should be careful where we are leaving our link … Thanks for the basic knowledge Alok .. you as well as your blog is really helpful 🙂
