How to Win the Hearts of Your Readers!
Blogging is not only about writing blog and sharing them on social media sites. Blogging is something more than that, and it is winning the hearts of your readers. Read on this blog post to know how to win the hearts of your readers.
To be very honest guys I took a break from my regular blogging on last day. I could not be able to publish a post on yesterday and the reason being I was so much busy with my regular work, and I was also helping two readers of my blog to establish their blogs. Fortunately both of them were having a blog in blogspot domain and they wanted to shift it to self hosted WordPress.
Though I did it once before, but forget to make blog post of the steps last time, but since I did it twice yesterday and that too successfully so I thought I will come along with a blog post on the steps. Hopefully you all will be able to read this very soon.
The point which I was about to tell you is to win the hearts of your readers. Honestly those two beautiful women came to know about me through my blog only and one day they mailed me that they desire to switch their blogspot domain into a self hosted WordPress blog and I did tried whatever best I can do for them to set it up.
You won’t believe the happiness which I received when I saw them happy after the conversion 🙂
Honestly nothing is more beautiful than the smile of happiness, which comes from the core.
Though, I am not a big name as far as blogging is concerned, but still I try to win the hearts of my readers all the time. I don’t know or rather I won’t comment on if I have been able to win your heart or not, as it is you only who can comment on this in a better way, but yes I am very much satisfied with whatever opportunities I got to help my readers.
How to Win the Hearts of Your Readers!
How to Win the Hearts of Your Readers!
So coming back to our original discussion of how to win the hearts of your readers, I am sure all those who has a blog or who are into blogging would love to hear my opinion on it. To be very frank, blogging is one of the best relationships making process I have ever come through. It is a link between the blogger and their readers or followers.
To be very frank you cannot be able to establish a relationship with your readers from a single blog post. You cannot expect that you write a smart, lengthy, informative, blog post and you will have a strong bond with your readership. Nope, you cannot have a string relationship with your readers with one blog.
It is a continuous process and might take months, or years to win the heart of your readers so that they can become loyal followers of your blog.
To be very frank your blogs (individual blog posts) are a way to introduce yourself to your readers. It is like you are saying hi to a stranger. Responding to your hi is entirely in the hand of the person who is reading your blog. It might also depend on how pleasantly you offered your hand to the readers.
Whatever be the case, the reader will came to know you through your blog and will want to say hi or hello to you through your blog only. Now it is your turn, you need to make this bond stronger, or just wanted to ignore it, it is entirely in your hands.
Normal courtesy says you welcome any person who responds positively to your first hi. So the same should apply over here as well. But then it is just the beginning of a very strong relationship or friendship. You being the blogger have the responsibility to build this relationship and bonding stronger with your readers.
You may ask how?
So, here are the ways:
Honor Your Readers
Honor Your Readers
To be very frank, the readers of your blog are valuable assets of yours. You should honor them properly. You should never take them for granted. After all they are actually spending their precious time while reading your blog. You should write whatever you are writing to satisfy them, to honor them, so that they can feel valuable when they read your content and would love to visit again.
To be very frank, I am not bothered if hundreds of people are visiting my blog daily or thousands are. Even if the numbers are in one or two digits, that too won’t bother me. The thing is that every individual person who is visiting my blog is precious for me. After all they all are investing their time to get some knowledge from my blog and it is my duty to provide them the value of their time with the help of knowledge which I can share with them.
The tip which I can give to any newbie blogger or any established one as well is to consider your readers as a community which you are developing, not as a visitor only. 🙂
Prepare Posts Solving Their Issues
Prepare Posts Solving Their Issues
So when you decided to develop the community which you started, it is your duty to solve the concerns or issues of your community members. Try to resolve whatever issues they all are facing with the help of your blog posts.
Always remember in the field of blogging, your writing ability is not something which can make you popular, it can make you popular if you have chosen to write books, but then it is your ability to share love with your readers which can make you popular in blogging. It is the same relationship building technique which I mentioned earlier.
You must have realized that many a times I prepare a new blog post based on some of the query which I receive through the comments of my readers. This is a good idea to honor them.
Respond to Their Comments
Respond to Their Comments
As you all know that a few days back only I published a blog on responding to blog comments is good or bad and you all know that I always support responding to the comments. To be very frank, I always feel pity about a blog if I found that the blog owner simply ignores the comments.
It is not a good way to give respect to your readers. As I said that blogging is a process of community building and since you are the owner and the creator of the particular community, and hence it is your duty to give value to those who want to participate in your community.
Share Their Experiences
Share Their Experiences
Don’t only build a relationship with your readers, but try to share their experiences as well. It will not only make them happy but also make them closure to you.
This is something like you are acknowledging that you gives value to them and pay attention to them. This way you encourage them as well.
So these were some of the tips which can help you to build a strong relationship with your readers and this way you can be able to develop a strong community as well. But only giving them value on your blog is not enough to build the relationship, you also need to encourage them for their blogs. Try to share your honest opinion about their blog post, try to build them it in a proper way, and try to help them if they need something to promote their blog posts.
Sometimes suggesting some improvements might come as a surprise to them, but it will definitely make them happy. It will certainly be a pleasant surprise and help you to build a strong relationship with them.
I guess you people are those who can comment about whether I have been successful in doing these things or not? I would request you all to share your opinion with us so that we can also be able to understand if the tips which I am giving are really workable or not. I am eagerly waiting for your comments and feedback on this blog post of mine.

Hi friends, my name is Alok Vats, and I am the owner of this website I News India. From last six years I am trying to build this website, I started this website from scratch and then with the help of my friends like Pooja, Prachi, and Divya I published many articles over here. Recently Harshita, Tanmay and Aayushi too joined my website, and am really glad to share some articles written by them over here. I am sure many of you would love the same. These days I am managing the site with myself only and the focus is to share blogs on the topics like Blogging Tips, Self Improvement, SEO, and all other things which can make you to enhance your life.
This is a beautiful one Alok. The idea of relationship building is centric to anything we work on, may it be a business or a much naiver initiative like a blog. I completely agree with you on the line of trying to solve your readers problems, being someone who your readers will look up to, having conversation with them. I understand what you mean by people not replying to comments. I think it is highly unfair if some people dont reply to their comments on the blog. People have read it and taken the effort of actually writing something in return. If we dont honor our readers and dont show how appreciated they are, we run the risk of losing on some fantastic relationships that can develop 🙂 .
Lovely post Alok, it truly brings out your love on blogging 🙂
Thank you so much Vinay 🙂 I am glad that you liked this blog post of mine. It is very much true that blogging is not simple writing and sharing your opinion, but it is a way to connect with your readers and be a guide to them. 🙂
Alok, you’ve just condensed the secret in one word and that is RELATIONSHIP. It is the only way of success in any field as also acknowledged by Vinay. Thanks for presenting such pin-pointed objective to focus upon in order to lead a happy & proudful life.
Thank you so much Ravish, I am glad that you liked it. Honestly I guess this is the only and the major differences between blogging and writing, through blogging we usually build and manager relationships with our readers, while on the other hand with writing we simply make a relationship with our readers. 🙂
This is a post which covers all the aspect of the topics.Your points are right. But what if the blog is personal (like mine). I cannot help through my blog post much. I am waiting for the post on blogspot to wordpress domain. Need I say a great post once again? 🙂
Who told you Datta that you cannot help people through your blog post? Honestly speaking your blog posts has higher capacity than mine to touch hearts and establish relationships. To be very frank the idea of helping people is not only through sharing the so called technical blog posts which I usually do, but it is also about healing people from your words, providing them a space where they can get relief, is not it?
Thank you so much Datta for saying it a great post once again 🙂
i have been reading your posts and find them interesting. firstly, let me thank you for the advice and guidance you keep providing regularly .i am only posting my stories and poems on my two blogs (www.obliqview.blogspot.in, i have started recently and is yet to be approved by indiblogger)? do you think that these can be successful since neither blog attempts to solve problems?
Sincerely shared, as usual, Alok.
I feel posts reflect the writer’s attitude and spirit. Your posts are always about providing benefits to the readers & that is so good 🙂
Thank you so much Anita 🙂
i have been reading your posts. i must thank you and congratulate you for very informative posts. i only post poems and stories on my two blogs. would my blogs fail since they do not give any solutions to problems nor or they informative like yours?
Dear I B Arora, thank you so much for sharing your comments with us, unfortunately it landed to the Spam page and I became late in responding to them. As I said Datta Ghosh as well, that poems and stories are a better way to connect and resolve the problems of users. You know what we all are looking for some piece, and we can definitely get it through poems and stories. In fact you had a better chance to touch the heart of your readers than us 🙂
Hope it will further inspire you to write more poems and stories 🙂
Like most other parts of life…the connect we make at various level with readers do help us in blogosphere..insightful
You are absolutely right Chaitali 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing your opinion with us.
Nothing satisfies us more that a happy smile…well said. And I totally agree with all the points you’ve mentioned….as I have said earlier…to me , the greatest virtue of blogging is the interaction with so many people who ( at least some of them ) eventually become friends… 🙂
Nice and a straight-from-the-heart post Alok… 🙂
Thank you so much Maniparna. This is truly a great feeling 🙂
Alok Bhai Sahab Thanks a lot of thanks a lot of for such a useful article. Here I would like to refer your article ‘responding to blog comments is good or bad ‘ where in the comments I and Ravish Bhai Sahab had some difference of Opinion, and I think now Ravish bhai sahab will agree with me.
🙂 Ha ha, nothing personal Sampat Kumari jee. Thank you so much for liking this blog post of mine. Yes responding to comments is a good way to win the heart of your readers. Thank you so much for sharing your opinion with us.
I too believe that building a relationship with readers is important…it’s not just about the accuracy in english or tons of wisdom and knowledge… I find it quiet stupid when some bloggers don’t respond to the comments i or any other reader has made. The reason I keep visiting inews india is that i know that at least, someone is going to respond to my comments!!! 😉
Thank you so much Shahen, I am glad that you liked my blog I News India so much. Yes I always try to respond to each and every comments which my blog receive. Though sometimes I became late in responding, but then I always try to respond.
After all you are an example of the success of the relationship building efforts of I News India. Relationship building with your readers is very much required in case of a blog. In my opinion the success of a blog can be measured by the satisfaction which it gives to its readers. 🙂
