Normally I say that I am an SEO by profession and a blogger by passion. Here is a blog post on 10 lessons which I have learned from blogging and SEO.
It was 1st of October 2004 when I started my working career as an SEO and honestly speaking it was the same day when I first came to know about this term search engine optimization.
I was not at all aware about what SEO is and how to do it till that time.
Similarly when I started blogging in around 2006-07; I was not much aware about how to manage a blog, how to write posts which can connect my blog with its readers and what was the actual purpose of blogging was.
Like many others I just started blogging, since it was something which was appealing to me, I wanted to start a blog which can be my identity in long run.
So over last 10 years of my SEO profession which literally converted me into a blogger since last 8 years taught me many lessons. I usually do share many tips from my experiences to you all in the form of blogs over here and on Tech Acid as well. But today I thought to share some lessons which I learned from Blogging and SEO.

As other human being, I am also a human and do mistakes. During last 10 years I have made so many mistakes, those mistakes are something which taught me so many lessons. I still use to do mistakes and take lessons from them. Today you can get many bloggers who use to share their experiences and we can be able to learn many new things from them, but then when I started my career, learning was not that much easier.
Unfortunately I did not have any god father in this industry, whatever I learnt from this industry is based on my own experiences and this was the reason why I started sharing my own experiences with others, so that they cannot have to face the similar conditions.
Here are those 10 lessons which I learned from Blogging and SEO:
As I mentioned in some of my previous blog posts (like The Best SEO Advice to Any Blog)Β that the best SEO advice which I can give to any blogger is to write what your readers love to read and this will surely benefit you. When you write things which you love to read it will certainly be a good experience for you, and when you connect yourself with your readers, you will soon start understanding what your readers want from you.
You might feel that writing the similar types of stuffs over and over might bore my readers. In that case try to bring variety in your writing but never go away from your target.
One thing you can always remember is that the person who started following you is the same who actually likes your writing. And to please them you will have to provide them the best possible things. Remember we all have a separate writing style and it wonβt suit everyone. It will be liked by very limited people only. So try to please that special set of people only from your writing.
Remember you cannot be able to make everyone happy.
Blogging and SEO, these two fields are something which need you to become a student for lifetime. You need to learn new things on every day. If you cannot be able to study new things, then I am sure it is not a cup of tea of your choice. Frankly, no matter how experienced blogger you are, or how experienced SEO you became, but still you need to update yourself with what new things are going on in our industry.
Try to grab as much information as you can from as many sources as possible. Do an analysis of whatever you learnt and implement the things which you think is going to benefit you and your website.
The best thing which these two blogging and SEO has taught me is that whatever we are seeing today, might become obsolete tomorrow and we need to adopt our self as per the situation.
It is very much true that if today we are working on a platform which is being liked by many others, and suits our needs as well, we might have to change it in future, just because something new which is more prosperous than the previous one came into existence and soon we will have to adopt ourselves.
So we will have to adjust ourselves with the latest trends to sustain in this field.
Commitment is the key behind success in blogging as well as in SEO too. You need to commit yourself for the latest changes in both the fields. SEO is an industry in which search engines randomly changes algorithms, which you need to understand from your own only.
With a commitment towards those changes you can only be able understand what changes search engines made.
Those who know me personally, sometimes comment that I am a calm person. But I was not a calm person from the beginning.
This is the outcome of my profession. SEO and blogging both taught me to become a patient guy and have patience while getting any results.
In SEO results wonβt come instantly, it might take months or sometimes years to reflect in reality. While on the other hand youβre hard work of months might get ruined within a single day and you cannot be able to do anything.
The moment you lose your patience, you will be thrown out of the competition.
Strictness is something which is not always required in this field, but you need to be sometimes. While blogging and doing SEO, you might encounter people who would take advantage from you. You need to be strict for them.
Never allow anyone to take advantage from your and never take advantage from someone else. This is the principle on which I am working so far, despite facing so many defeats in my professional life I am still following it strictly.
Donβt ever allow anyone to post anything on your blog, be strict about accepting any guest blog on your blog. Similarly donβt ever allow a link to someone from your site if the other person is seeking the same on behalf of your friendship. Always link to a site which can be a useful and important resource for your readers.
Donβt ever compromise on the quality of content of your blog or any article which you write for the purpose of SEO. The better the quality of your content better will be the chances to rank in search engines.
Always remember the uniqueness of the content which you are going to use is not the only thing which you require for the popularity of your content, but you also need to make it interesting and informative.
Try to make pages which can blow the competition away π
Honestly, I realized one thing from my blogging experience, it is the βHow Toβ types of content which are more searched by people than any other content. If you can provide the solutions to any problem, your blog will start getting visitors and likes by people who are looking for some solution of their problems.
The moment when I start writing a blog post on blogging tips, I do consider a situation in front of me and try to provide the how to solution of the same situation. This is the same case when I write something on SEO as well.
Social media is one of the finest discoveries of the recent times. Those who are not yet active on those sites should need to create accounts on sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Reddit, Stumbleupon, etc.
Many people have a misconception that these sites are only a medium of passing time, which is not at all true. Especially for bloggers and SEOβs these sites are the best resources. You can increase the visibility of your website or blog through these sites; you can participate on those sites and can get many things to learn.
The last but not the least lessons which life taught me through my professions are to enjoy the life and take things lightly. Have some fun in your life my dear friends. Those who are regular visitors of my blog know that I usually participate in bloggers meet organized by IndiBlogger and some other blogging communities as well, and these meets always gives me the option of enjoying my blogging career.
Sometimes deadlines and other things in your life might stop you to enjoy your life, but then with the help of your blog you can truly enjoy the journey and life as well.
So those were the 10 lessons which I learnt from my professions, hope you all will like those. Please do share your opinion about this blog post of mine. I hope you can be able to teach something new to me with the help of your comment.
