10 Things Your Competitors Can Teach You About Shareable Content!

Not all the contents are of equal value. Some contents are highly shareable and some are not. Let us understand what technique your competitors are applying on their content and understand the 10 things your competitors can teach you about shareable content.

I am sure if you are a blogger, you too sometimes wonder like me, how come a blog post written by someone else get so many shares on social media sites?

Honestly I am also like you only. Now these “you” simply do not belong to you if your blog usually gets more than hundreds of share within a few hours of publish. I am talking about bloggers like mine who simply get 2-3 or maximum 5-10 shares on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.

So after all what are the things which actually makes a blog or content as shareable?

10 Things Your Competitors Can Teach You About Shareable Content!

Sometimes I feel jealous about those bloggers who publish a post and within a few hours have around 575 odd tweets and 787 numbers of likes on Facebook. Don’t be surprise to know the number of likes on G+; usually it is around 1055 something. How come a post becomes so viral within a few hours of its posting?

10 Things Your Competitors Can Teach You About Shareable Content!

It always gives me the necessary inspiration to try to improve my own blogs so that one day one of my posts also gets at least 10% of what those big guns achieve. Frankly I would be happy on a day when some of my blog post will have around 50 tweets, FB likes and G+.

Honestly there are few posts of mine which has achieved these targets too, but then I am not satisfied with them, as those were received those many likes in a duration of around one year time.

Why We Love Shareable Content (And You Should, Too!)

Content with higher shareability are having a great chance of going viral on social media sites. It can immensely give your website a great number of visits within hours from social media sites.

Not only your website will get the instant traffic, but it will also get a positive response from Google in search results. Thus a ranking improvement is there on the card. Google loves viral content and gives them the additional SEO love.

It is a common analysis these days that when Google realizes many real people like the content and sharing it as well, it simply gives a positive impact on the overall SEO of the website.

Here are those 10 things which I realized from my competitors about a content going viral on social media sites within hours:

High Quality Content

How many marks would you give to the content which I share on I News India (based on a value of 0 to 10; 0 being lowest and 10 being highest)?

I want your opinion about the blog posts which I share on this blog based on the criteria of high quality content.

It is a general and common saying that high quality contents have the higher scope of being viral and popular. I too believe the same. When I see some of the blogs of some highly renowned bloggers, I realize my blogs are zero in front of their blogs, as far as the quality is concerned. Although if my readers are happy with the content which I am providing to them, I am happy, but then it won’t ever allow you to increase your reader base further.

And hence, I always try to improve my writing. Frankly if you continue writing for a long time, you will realize that you are improving. But it all depends on how you readers rank you.

So the secret of writing shareable content is to write high quality content only. Is it so?

Grammatically Correct Content

Honestly writing only the high quality content does not matters. I personally know so many bloggers who write such a nice content, but the thing which can stop or limit your blog from getting viral is the poor English.

Honestly I know my limitations as a blogger, I gracefully accept the fact that my English knowledge is not that much sound which can help me to write a killer blog post. Actually my first language is not English, but still I try my best to deliver the best.

To be very frank to become successful in the world of blogging you need grammatically correct blogs.

Timely and Informative Content

Timing and information on a blog post matters a lot behind the chances of being viral on social networks.

One thing which I realized from the competitors is that if some big event is happening, then you need to come up with your opinion on it very soon. If you become late in delivering things, others will have the better scope of being viral and you will remain at the back seat.

Now, there was one friend of mine who use to publish timely posts, but with very less information. He use to deliver content based on some news which he came through randomly. Does it mean that his posts will ever become viral?

I guess no, no matter when you are coming up with the content, you need to give the maximum information in it to your readers, and this is something which can force your readers to like and share the content on their social network.

Writing Style

One thing which my competitors taught me (not directly, but indirectly) that you’re writing style matters a lot behind the success of your blog.

You need to connect with your reader base and then only you can expect a like or share from them.

I normally read many bloggers blog daily, and I realize how simply they connect with their reader base. If you read them, you will understand that this connection with reader base is the most important factor which compels the reader to share their content on social media websites.

Pictures Along with Content

It is the most important factor behind the success of a blog in social media sites. Consider a blog with no picture compared with a blog which has a brilliantly designed picture or pictures which are matching the requirements of the content; which one is gonna get more attention in social media sites?

Obviously the later one will get more like and share. During last few years social media sites are also emphasizing on content having images on their timeline than the piece of content without having any pictures.

Thus it is always suggested to design a good picture with the content. Though I am not good into creativity and designing, but still I try to come up with an image with each and every blog posts.

InfoGraphics on Content

Infographics these days plays a huge role in the success of your website on social media sites. As suggested by Ravish Mani on this comment on this blog post of mine, it is very much true that it is better to display infographics in place of simple pictures to increase the chances of getting more attention in social media sites.

Based on that comment of my dear friend Ravish, this time along with this blog post I have decided to come up with an infographics:

You can also share this infographics on your social media websites.

Videos on Content

Another ingredient which can make a piece of content into a shareable one is Video. Video is having very high chance of getting viral, if it matches the need of the specific people.

So having a good quality video along with your blog post or content is a good idea.

Specified to Target Audience

Now this is something which I truly emphasize. If you want to deliver a shareable content to your audience then you must need to write specific to your target audience only. Honestly a piece of content can become a massive hit if it is written specific to its target audience.

And as I explained above that if you are writing in a way that your readers are being able to associate themselves with the content, it has a very good chance to become viral on social sites.

Great Headline

A great or punchy headline is something which can instantly grab the attention of your readers. It can also give you the SEO benefits, if you insert your main keywords into it. Again a great headline will give you more attention on social media websites like FB, Twitter, G+, etc.

Believe me, a great headline will at least give you more attention in twitter, this is being tested by me and hence I can claim this.

Punchy Writing with Sub-Headings

Now this is something which I always suggest to bloggers like Vinay Nagaraju and some other blogger friends of mine. Honestly Vinay now improved a lot in this.

Honestly if you want to develop a shareable content then you need to write short lines, which has some punch, and broken up into points or sub-headings. This will surely give the best feeling to your readers. I am sure you yourself won’t ever like to read a long-long paragraph with no sub-headings or points in it.

So those were the 10 tips or ten things which my competitors taught me from their blog posts about how to make shareable content. Believe me it is only a fraction of second which decided the fate of your content on social media sites. User won’t take much to decide if it is hot or not.

Honestly on sites like Facebook, Twitter, G+, etc. people won’t even visit your site to check or decide if it is hot or not, so to get attention on those sites great headlines, punchy start lines, pictures or graphics becomes crucial.

If you can come up with something unique on those things, people will prefer to visit your site, like it on those sites and even share among their networks, thus making your content as Hot.

Please do share your opinion about this blog post of mine. What do you think about how to make shareable content? I am eager to hear your opinion about it and yes please don’t forget to give marks for the content written by me over here.
