What Are We Doing to Celebrate Independence Day?
Happy Independence Day to all the readers of I News India. We all are celebrating this day with enthusiasm, but I truly wanted to know what are you doing to celebrate Independence Day?
We all are celebrating this day in different ways. Some people are participating in some flag hosting ceremony in their locality and some people are going to Red Fort to listen to the first speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a PM of India.
Some people are decorating their home with tricolors; some people are going to fill the sky with tricolor kites on this occasion. Some people are preparing dishes with tricolors.
And some people like me, who are in the office today also and either decorating their workplace with tricolors, or small sized tricolor flags, or displaying flag as the wallpaper on their workstation. Honestly I too wear a tricolor band on my right hand to show my love towards the national flag.
But the real purpose of this blog is to ask everyone, what exactly are you trying to do which can make a better India, so that people of India can celebrate an Independence Day happily. I guess these days Independence Day is celebrated throughout the nation, but somewhere Happy is being taken out from this.
I am eagerly waiting towards making a real Happy Independence Day to India, every second person will say this, but ask them what exactly are they really doing to make it possible?
Let me tell you something which I think can make the real happy Independence Day:
The day when we can get rid of any types of fear will be the real Happy Independence Day. What are we trying in doing so?
Do we play any role in the development of our society so that people of India can live a fear free life?
If yes then you have all the rights to celebrate the Happy Independence Day, if not then let’s take a oath that we will try our best to make India a fear free nation. I am aware that we being a common people (Mango People) has very limited role which we can play in making India a fear free nation, but then whatever small role we can play will make the real change.
We normally have the tendency of blaming others, that he is not playing his role perfectly, let’s now forget about blaming others, and first do give a look towards if we are playing our own role or not.
This is the real need of the time. These special enemies of women are stopping them to make Happy Independence Day. I hope we can seriously think about trying to get rid of all those eve-teasers, rapists, and all those who don’t respect women, take them for granted, use them as if they are their own property. I seriously want an India where each and every woman, girl, ladies, can safely roam around and should be given proper respect.
I am sure it won’t happen in one day, or it won’t even happen if I will try it all alone. It will need the help of each and every person of this society, and I am confident that one day it will also happen.
Let’s give it a try from our own home only. Do teach the kids of our own house to respect the girls and women. Do love the female species of your own home first. Give respect them first to let your kids follow the same in their life. It will be basic building blocks of the society.
I do remember a few years back, people were looking for baby boys, either ignoring baby girls, or killing them while they were not yet opened their eyes too, then lots of dowry and so many other restrictions on women. Those were the time when society was actually prompting boys to harass women.
But now situation has changed a lot. I did see youngsters prefer doing love marriages, thus dowry system are taking back seats now, though not yet obsolete. I am seeing the change in the society giving respect to women, and people like us loving their girl child even more than boys. I know the society has not changed entirely, it definitely will take some time, but then we will have to at least start doing such changes from our own home only.
If we can be able to do bring some changes, I am sure that day will not be far when Women can also celebrate Independence Day Happily.
The most difficult nut to crack at the moment 🙂
I am sure one day this will also be done. I am not Arvind Kejriwal who can tell everyone not to give bribery to anyone, or if you are giving then make a sting operation of the person and send him the video. Though I am not a supporter of him, but I do believe that things which he is saying against corruption are true, and we should follow the same.
Although in this practical world it is too hard to follow these entire apotheoses. Only if you have the power which unfortunately the people of Delhi gave to Arvind Kejriwal and in his greed of achieving more he simply rejected, then only you can make some changes.
Though being a common man I can say that we can at least try our best to control this disease of corruption as much as we can. We can at least complaint about such things to the authorities; even we can share it on social media these days. Hope Modi Jee and team will take care of the rest.
Though I am not a big name or a person who can make changes in the system, but being a responsible citizen of India I can do some very small things which can make India a strong India and a better place to live. We need India where people are not falsely accused of any crimes and will fight for justice. If you are wrongly accused, then contact criminal defense lawyers, who will fight DUI charges and other false accusations. Then, when you’re faced with allegations pertaining to internet crime, the importance of having an experienced attorney by your side cannot be overstated. It is imperative to remember that not all lawyers are equally skilled in this nuanced area of law. With expert legal support from the team at https://www.newjerseycriminallawattorney.com/white-collar-crime/internet-crime/, one can navigate the intricate web of legislation, ensuring your rights are robustly defended and your case presented in the most effective manner.
I can give votes, I can pay taxes, I can follow general traffic rules, or queues at times, I can help other fellow Indians, I can help foreigners who are visiting India, I can help animals outside our home, I can help birds, I can do so many such small things which can truly set an example, and I try to do so.
As I said today in a comment on this blog post of mine that I do support Indian bloggers to grow as strong and global bloggers so that the world can recognize us. You can read this comment of mine at this place, in which I said that this is my way own way to strengthen India.
I always try to encourage Indian bloggers to grow their blog in a way that they can be recognized throughout the world. I might not be such a big blogger who has a global identity, but then transforming such talented buddies into a global face will definitely give me the satisfaction that I did something for my country, my mother.
I am sure you all will resemble around this and will help me to do so. I am sure you all will take oath along with me to build a better India, which can truly make the coming Independence Days as the Happy ones.
Do let me know your opinion and what do you think about it all in the form of comments. I will be happy to discuss it further.
Amazing write up Alok ji..indeed we all need independence from all these then only it will be real and happy independence.
Thank you so much Dipali 🙂 I am glad that you liked my post.
Very big issues, Alok. Yes, we can do so many small things which can truly set an example. A nice initiative.
Rightly said Ravish, issues are really big, but can be conquered with small-small steps only. If we are thinking that Arvind Kejriwal types of politician can make India corruption free in a night, then we need to think it twice. You might say me the follower of Narendra Modi, but honestly our nation actually need the practical approach which he is applying. I am quite sure if he goes in the same way, India will soon be the developed nation.
Meanwhile it is our own duty as well to do what we can do to make India a very strong India.
Forgive me Alok but I ain’t the admirer of the concept of nation very much. I don’t want to limit myself. I believe in humanity first. Caste, creed, religion, region, nation are limitations in human growth.
Hmm, agreed with your thoughts Ravish. Ideally if you are serving humanity only you are actually serving your nation only. My point was that we should at least do whatever we can be able to do for our nation. 🙂 Thank you so much Ravish for sharing your opinion with us.
Great post, Alok.
Today morning when I woke up, I first remembered all our freedom struggle heroes who have sacrificed their lives for our India to be independent & I also thought of our brave soldiers who are guarding us day & night without caring for their lives… I felt guilty that here I am enjoying freedom at their expense…
You have raised valid points. We truly need freedom from all this & more.
We all must perform our right & duties as responsible citizens. Then, our India will progress.
Very true Anita. Exactly the same feeling came inside my heart too and hence I came up with this post. Thank you so much Anita for supporting my post 🙂
This is a real lovely one Alok, all such brilliant pointers. I listened to the speech by Modi today. It makes me feel really proud that we have such a strong PM to represent us. The thoughts resonated so well and the ones which actually mean true independence.. A wonderful start and a true mark of a responsible man..
And the post is really nice Alok, resonates the true essence of freedom 🙂
Unfortunately I did hear the speech from the news only Vinay, it truly made me proud that we have such a good person as the Prime Minister of India. I cannot explain the happiness in words, Modi jee is really doing a great work to build the nation.
A great Thought propagated…

And Head is held High”

I have always done my bit and this Independence Day I pledged my organs to save 8 lives and it felt good. The next year I might do something else.
So good to hear this Datta. I am glad that you donated your organs 🙂 Thank you so much Datta for sharing all this 🙂
Alokji your article is realistic but what about the people having a negative attitude. Yesterday more that 50 per cent staff of my office was absent and I know that they celebrate the independence day and republic day as a holiday. I was so annoyed that I marked leave against their names. I got a chance to live for some time in Libya, Russia and other countries where I realized the real value of living in a democratic country. If I compare their life with ours, they are living like slaves.
Thank you so much Sampat Kumari jee for sharing all this with us, honestly there are people who take these two days as a holiday and actually waste the day. We should at least think about our nation and try to build it a strong one with some small-small things 🙂
