This is a smart one Kaustav. I do use images in my articles, somehow the use of featured image is not something which I have used very well. Perhaps cos it forms a deterrent to the posts and doesnt go very well with the theme. It is a nice idea to use the hyphens in the alt tags, I shall start using them from now on 🙂 . Thank you 🙂

Nice to see you found my post useful and yes, featured images have a lot of work on a blog. Featured images shows thumbnails for your blog posts, get attached while sharing and automatically adds some SEO value to your website in the form of an image. So, I would suggest that you should never ignore the usage of featured images.-

Hi Najm, I hope you know now that images have a very vital role in on-page SEO. You see off-page SEO techniques are not directly in our hands to quickly improve (like backlinks,domain authority,PR,etc.). So, we must maximize our on-page SEO techniques.

Nice to you see you so engaged with the post. Well, as I have explained in the article, images are a prime part of on-page SEO. So, whenever you put images on your webpage, your SEO work for that page gets boosted. The search engine bots track the “alt” attribute value for an image to find out whether the searched term is present in that string. So, if you are writing about “cars online”, just put an image and supply the alt tag having the keyword “cars online”. In this way, search engines will be able to find your page better.
Now, featured images are nothing but WordPress’s own style of saying thumbnails. The images that get displayed besides post previews on the index pages,archive pages or search pages – that is called the thumbnail or featured image. These images are specific to a particular post and thus adds SEO value to it, because they too have an alt tag. -
