  1. This is a really nice one Alok. Frankly I prefer to avoid these types of people. They are more of a drain on energy than a reinforcement.

Really nice to see you these types of articles Alok, it gives a nice picture of your views on the world and also something we could all relate to. Very elegantly done 🙂

    1. Thanks a lot Vinay. Honestly we all faces problem with having those types of friends, and this is the reason why I try to maintain a good distance from them.

  2. Couldn’t agree more with Vinay. Such articles let us see a different side of you Alok,, and helps us connect more with the person behind the blog.
The only type I stay far away from is the negative. Big black hole sucking all my energy. I don’t need that!

    1. Thank you so much Anawnimiss 🙂 I am glad that you liked my blog post. You are right negative people can create a big hole around you, and we should stay away from it.

  3. Completely can’t agree more Alokji…no more to add…really enjoyed the article and made me reflect too

    1. Thank you so much Chaitali 🙂

    Interesting post !

    1. Thanks a lot Ananya, I am glad that you liked it. 🙂

  5. Very insightful post. Speaking from experience, I only recently realised that negative people so drain us out, and they can be anyone – family, friends or random acquaintances. It’s better to stay away from them, than live under the false impression that they are our social cushions.

    1. Very well said Ragini, I am glad that you shared your personal experience with us. It is very much true that those negative minded people can drain us out and we are required to stay away from those. You know what we all need the positive minded people near us, there is actually a shortage of such people, and hence I always want to stay in touch with such people whenever I encounter some.

I know that sometimes I too had this negative approach towards life, but thankfully with the grace of God I do have some good friends, which include my wife Punam too, and hence I can easily come out of such situation. 🙂 Thank you for your visit and comment on this blog 🙂

  6. It is ironically true that despite having some of the qualities you mention I hate people having these qualities. Thanks Alok for reminding me that I’ve to work harder in these areas.

    1. Thanks a lot Ravish for your comment on this blog post. Honestly we don’t have the courage to accept the fact that we do have some of those qualities inside us, the reason why I shared this blog post is to get rid of those issues only, and if you are accepting it my purpose of blogging this is a huge success. I wish you all the best to get rid of any such things if you do have, which I doubt you have. 🙂 Thank you again for your visit and comment.

  7. I understand the frustrations when we encounter all such kind of people you have mentioned. Ignoring is the the best option. As we cant go on hating and thinking about people. There is good in everyone and thinking only on negatives makes us focus only on the bad. So yes, the trick is definitely to ignore when you don’t like someone’s attitude and behaviour 🙂

    1. Rightly said Roohi, I am glad that you liked my approach, I honestly hate those people, but never show this hate-ness to them as I do believe that spreading hate-ness is not at all a good thing, instead I simply ignore them.

Thank you Roohi for sharing your comment 🙂

  8. True! these can drain you out!

    1. Thank you so much Ilakshee for liking the blog post and sharing your opinion as well 🙂 You said it absolutely right that these can drain you out.

  9. Six distinct categories …one should always keep distance from. The most dangerous , in my opinion are those people who are selfish and egoistical…they can simply harm you to attain their own end…
    insightful post as always..

    1. Thanks a lot Maniparna, I am glad that you liked it and you said it absolutely right that selfish and egoistical people are the most dangerous. Honestly I don’t like to be known as the friend of any selfish person.

Thank you once again for your comment 🙂

  10. That’s an interesting post. Kudos on such a comprehensive list! 😀

    1. Thank you so much Deboshree.

I myself have met many people who sugar coat from out and are very evil from the inside , they wear masks and make sure people around them are fooled, I hate them too! And as for those who keep the company of negative , it is their own loss, negative people themselves make it worse for the people around them. And i loved your point of laziness ! procrastinating is definitely something I avoid , laziness is the death of all things good. very nice post , and no its not negativity , you are simply telling whom one should avoid , so this is a positive post ! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Najm Nisa, I am glad that you liked this blog post of mine. It is true that laziness is really a dangerous approach and yes wearing a masks to impress someone is also not a good thing, your mask will surely come out one day and your naked face will be bad for whom you were trying to impress.

Thank you once again for supporting so much 🙂

    Alok ji,
your post is much needed insights for everyone, as many times in our life we are struck in such confusions & lost our will, faith on goodness. I also prefer to stay away from negative & egoistical people.I read somewhere, wen we meet someone for the first time, it’s their aura which is reflected & we get attracted/impressed with them. With few we just wish to move away & never talk again 😀 😀 it’s really something which I believes.
thanks for such a wonderful post & guidance.
    Good wishes.

    1. Thank you so much Ruchi, I am really glad that you liked this blog post of mine, the one line which you said “when we meet someone for the first time, it’s their aura which is reflected & we get attracted/impressed with them” is actually very true. One thing which you also pointed out is that because of these negative people only we lose our faith in goodness, and this is really bad. We should get rid of these types of people… 🙂

Thank you once again for your valuable comment on it.

  14. Nice list, and definitely a reminder for me when I meet new people. I stay away from certain kinds of people too- the wannabes, the emotional manipulators and the ‘misery loves company’ kind of people, who will drag you down into their misery.

    1. Thank you so much Chaitanya 🙂 I am glad that you liked this blog post of mine. 🙂 Thank you for your valuable comment over here…
