How to Do Comments on Blogs!
About The Author
Hi friends, my name is Alok Vats, and I am the owner of this website I News India. From last six years I am trying to build this website, I started this website from scratch and then with the help of my friends like Pooja, Prachi, and Divya I published many articles over here. Recently Harshita, Tanmay and Aayushi too joined my website, and am really glad to share some articles written by them over here. I am sure many of you would love the same.
These days I am managing the site with myself only and the focus is to share blogs on the topics like Blogging Tips, Self Improvement, SEO, and all other things which can make you to enhance your life.
It never occurred to me one can write a blog on this. Great read and I agree with many of the points.
How does one politely say the commenter not leave a back link? 🙂
Dear Indrani, thanks for your comment on this blog post. I am glad that you found it interesting.
As far as your question is concerned, what I feel is that we bloggers are actually too humble and we don’t feel saying this to someone as it might seems an insult to that person. So it really becomes a tough situation for us. But then after some time we will have to think about it as just because of some poor quality comments we would never want our blog to be penalized by Google.
So I guess the best way is to remove the link from the comments through admin panel is the best way to do let him know about it. This way I guess the person will get the signal and hopefully he/she will try to rectify themselves in future.
Right points, Alok 🙂
I had written about why Bloggers Comment in a previous Post & was thinking of writing more about Blog Commenting too 🙂 Much needed info!
Thanks a lot Anita 🙂 I actually do get inspiration from people like you.
Will wait eagerly for your post and also check the post on why bloggers comment…

I am following your blog posts regularly since I joined Indiblogger few month back and I must say that i found several of your posts quite informative and useful for a newbie like me. I learned quite a few things and terms on blogging and started following those.
This post is again very useful as it points out certain common mistakes which people make, maybe due to their ignorance.
Dear Q W Naqvi sir, the pleasure is entirely mine. I am really delighted that you liked my blog posts and you are getting inspiration from those posts. My purpose of blogging is achieved.
Such comments truly motivates me and inspire me to do similar types of things in coming days 🙂
Thank you Alok for this post. I didn’t know about the google disavow, that seems like a really interesting one to use and I guess that is where I am headed next. I was facing this challenge from quite a few days, esp when people leave a link back of their site on the comment. The site normally takes it as a spam and doesn’t allow posting with a hyperlink and I am usually not sure how to tell people how much we admire an original thought.
I think one of the desires of a blogger is to try and identify what people feel about a blog. I guess we are also tired of good post, nice post, nice work , etc etc. We like to know what emotions a post evokes and how we can respond accordingly in our writing style and thought process. In other words, a way of mutual value addition through out.
Thanks so much for the post Alok, it really does mean a lot to me that you wrote this upon my request. As usual, a nice set of thoughts and suggestions to pick from. I am heading the google disavow way now 🙂
The pleasure is entirely mines Vinay. Thanks for suggesting a topic on which I was confident enough to write something and thanks that you liked it 🙂
Though I never written anything on this topic but always felt the need to make people aware of this.. 😛 The number of bloggers are increasing in leaps and bounds and surprisingly a major chunk of them have no idea about general netiquettes…. 🙁 ..a very useful post from you… 🙂
Thanks a lot Maniparna 🙂 I am really glad that you liked it so much 🙂
This article is very useful for all bloggers. Bloggers are considered to be decent, highly educated and believable community and if they comment in disguise, it is unfair and can not be appreciated. Why should one hide his real name, Image or blog Id and post a comment using spurious details or anonymous. It means he lacks confidence in himself. Whatever you say, say in confidence. Hiding his identity is a job of those who do some thing wrong.
Some bloggers post two words comment Like “Nice Tips”, Excellent post”. I want to request that such comments are not accepted by the Googlebot. They have set a standard recently that a comment containing less than a certain number of characters will be automatically ignored. I am not sure but It may be 100 characters or so.
Thanks a lot Sampat Kumari jee, I am glad that you liked it so much. You said it right that those comments should be automatically ignored and I think this is the reason why some anti-spamming plugins send those two words comment to the spam folder.
First off, awesome article!! Blog commenting, I guess, plays an important role building the blogosphere relationships and this is really necessary for your blog’s health and wealth. So thanks for sharing such a tremendous article.
Yes Niladri, you said it absolutely right that blog commenting plays a crucial role in building the relationships between bloggers and blogs.
