Dance of Democracy in India!
I was actually not planning to write anything on the general elections, but it was the pressure from my wife which forced me to blog about the dance of democracy in India.
You all are already aware that I posted a blog on voting – rights of every citizen, the day when we caste our rights to elect our member of parliaments for 16th Lok Sabha. And earlier to that I also published a blog on please vote, we have a responsibility which I do feel we all should fulfill.
To be very frank, I was having a bit of interest towards politics since when former prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee jee formed the government for the first time, which unfortunately lasted for only 13 days.
As a politician I was having a big crush towards Vajpayee jee. I am a big follower of him.
Let me tell you one more thing, it was the last years assembly elections out here in Delhi (assembly elections Delhi 2013) which once again ignited this attraction towards politics inside me. Lately it was most probably the impact of the speeches of Narendra Modi which once again ignited the love towards politics in my mind.
Undoubtedly I am a big fan of Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), but I am not writing this blog post depending on my personal opinion. I will try to configure this blog depending on the general perception which we all are facing on a daily basis as a common people or Aam Aadmi, mango people.
Before writing about the general elections 2014, I thought to write something about the assembly elections of Delhi, which was held in the month of November – December 2013. The reason why I am mentioning about Delhi elections is the fact that it was truly a historic event, and brought a new option towards the voters of India.
The party which came out as a winner in this elections was none other than the common people of Delhi. Undoubtedly it resulted a hung assembly, though the winner was a newly developed party namely Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its founder Arvind Kejriwal.
To be very honest, the rise of AAP in Delhi was actually the dream of mine. Not only mine, but it was also the dream party for many of us. I saw this dream long away that one day I will come into politics and clear the system. It was actually my concept (in my dreams only) that one day few common people will united and fight against the corrupt system, bureaucrats, politicians, businessman, etc. all those who were troubling the life of the common people of India.
It is no untruth that the days when I was seeing this dream, I was studying in a very remote area of West Bengal, and was too away from Delhi, but since it is the capital of India, I was always dreaming to rule Delhi and cleaning the system over here only.
Fortunately I got the chance to vote for Delhi assembly for the first time and it was Arvind Kejriwal the main face behind the Anna movement for Jan Lokpal, who gave the shape of my dreams. I and my wife supported them with the core of our heart.
Delhi elections were being lead by AAP and it was simply because, they connected the chord of the wire which was actually tying the heart of the common people. Although, this dream broke very soon, in fact much before the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal’s famous 49 days government.
I would not mind telling you all that Arvind kejriwal as the leader of the mass, made so many mistakes, and the resignation was the biggest mistake of his life. I was happy when he accepted this fact a few days back, but till then it was too late.
To be very honest, I along with many people out here in Delhi was feeling cheated by many actions being taken by him. To be very frank, a common man wants a stable government, a government which can help solving their day-to-day problems, a government which can solve the basic needs of water, and electricity to them, a government which can control the level of corruption which is destroying the happiness of our life.
It is undoubtedly true that during the 49 days of the AAP government in Delhi, corruption in Delhi government employees became a thing of the past. The credit of the same also be given to the media houses, which created the fear of Kejriwal in the heart of those corrupt employees.
Other than that, as far as water and electricity were concerned, it was AAP which promised so many things to the common people, after making the government implemented some of the things, but then if they could have taken this process till a few more years people would have understand that it was possible. Else now what we are thinking is that reducing the prices for electricity or providing free water is actually not possible and hence you decided to quit.
But then if Kejriwal would have decided to quit because of the reason that he is unable to fulfill the promises which he made with the people of Delhi, I would have been happier than any one. But unfortunately when he decided to quit, the blame game which he played on Congress and BJP was actually not true.
After all what would have happen if they would not be able to fulfill the promise of Jan Lokpal in Delhi?
I guess nothing as such, as Central government has already passed the Jan Lokpal and then demanding for the same in state assembly was an unconstitutional thing and forcing the same was an immoral act.
Then resigning just because other parties were not supporting you to pass the Jan Lokpal was not a correct decision. We thought you are resigning, just because you wanted to become the Prime Minister of India. We would have supported you in becoming the PM of India as well, unless you would have focused on running the Delhi government effectively for next few years.
It is not true that any other party were stopping you to take decisions which will favor the common people of Delhi. But then you yourself did the mistake.
So now coming back to the story of the general elections 2014.
It was way back in 2013 only when it was clear that two major candidate for the prime ministerial post are Narendra Modi from BJP and Rahul Gandhi from INC (Indian National Congress).
Although Rahul Gandhi was never announced as the official candidate, as his definition of electing prime minister by the MP’s only is okay, but then why did the Congress party announced Indira Gandhi, or Rahul Gandhi, or Manmohan Singh as well as the Prime Ministerial candidates in past?
Anyways I am not going to discuss about it, let me provide you all a synopsis of options available with all of us in the general elections 2014.
Narendra Modi, undoubtedly the strongest leader of the Bhartiya Janta Party and a strong candidate for the prime ministerial candidates in India in 2014. As different phases of polling are happening it is no doubt that he is getting closure towards his dream of becoming the prime minster of India.
As per many pre poll opinions, NDA lead by him is going to achieve the majority in the general elections 2014. Though almost all the surveys predicting the victory of NDA over UPA in general elections, but only one survey gave them the clear majority.
Though the results will come on 16th May and before that it is really hard to predict anything, but if you go through the real India, you will definitely realize the love for Narendra Modi in the common people of India. Especially when you talk about the people of Utter Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, etc. you will surely realize that no other leader are there who can even touch NaMo as far as the popularity is concerned.
All those leaders who are saying that there is no NaMo Wave in India are actually aware about the fact that they are lying to fool their own supporter. I don’t know if he will become a PM or not, but one thing is clear, the love which Narendra Modi is getting is truly an awesome thing.
Sometimes I just wonder how people can love a single person so much.
To be very frank, I was discussing this with my wife last night, although it won’t be possible for Narendra Modi to fulfill all the wishes which we are having from him, but yes I have a firm believe that he will at least lead the India towards a better future.
I am not sure of what development he made in Gujarat, as I never visited there, but heard so many things about the Gujarat development, but still I do believe on only one thing, it is that he made the life of the Gujaratis as simple and comfortable. Which we all want.
We actually don’t need a PM which can sit on Dharna, instead of participating in an important meeting. I am saying this for Arvind Kejriwal as they day he sit on Dharna for saving one of his minister, he actually never bothered about a meeting with the CM of Haryana for the water supply for Delhi. Neither he nor his cabinet thinks about sending a curtsey message too to the Haryana CM about the meeting.
I know that it is not possible to bring down the prices of essential commodities within a day after becoming the prime minster of India, as some of the opponents talk about him that do you think the prices will become half of all the essential commodities the day he will become PM.
I know that there is no threat towards anyone out here in India if he becomes the PM of India. As congress always try to make him communal and show his fear towards the minorities communities of India. In my opinion simply talking about a riot which happened 12 years back in his state is not a genuine thing to prove him as communal. Don’t you think that one riot compared to many riots in Congress led government is not a fair discussion material? Don’t you think that he is the only guy who never allowed a single riot to happen in any part of Gujarat since 2002?
Anyways, if you talk to Narendra Modi, or watch him in any of the interview, you will clearly understand that he is having a vision to run this country and lead us towards a better future. I won’t say that the development model of Gujarat is suitable for entire India, but yes the techniques which he use to say to make the life of common man simpler and happier, are truly awesome and will definitely take India to a long journey.
Being the vice president of Indian National Congress, no doubt many people were seeing towards him with so many expectations. Undoubtedly he failed.
He failed with the expectations of different people. Not because of his speeches or poor communication with people, but when he says that we will do this, we will do that, I simply want to know why don’t you do anything in last 10 years?
I simply saw an advertisement on televisions these days in which congress party claims that they will develop 25% women security personnel if they came into power. I just want to ask them, why they don’t do it in last 10 years? Why they don’t thought about this when gang rapes were happening?
Being one of the national leaders, he should have shown a bit of maturity in his campaigns and speeches. But undoubtedly Rahul Gandhi as a leader of common people failed miserably. Undoubtedly he will become the prime minister of India one day, but I am not that much hopeful towards the India after his rule. I am unable to think about it better than anyways how Manmohan Singh ruled India in last 10 years.
Seriously he became a serious candidate for the prime ministerial seat, but it was some of the wrong decisions taken by him only which helped him to come out of the scene. Although many AAP supporters will defend me that let the results came, and we will come as a winner.
But, I have a very strong feeling that this election will stop the chariot of the growth of this tiny party AAP.
One of the biggest mistakes which Kejriwal made is to fight the election against Narendra Modi. I cannot predict the results from Varanashi constituency, but then when his campaign become against Narendra Modi, he lost the grip from the common people. Reason being, undoubtedly when we voted for Kejriwal in Delhi assembly elections, our normal thought was that AK for Delhi and NaMo for Center.
Second thing he was fighting against corruption and unfortunately common people of India has a very clean and clear image of Narendra Modi in their mind. In fact AK should have fight election against any corrupt leader of the UPA government, and he would have received the major support from common people.
When we talk about third or fourth front, undoubtedly many images came into our mind. There are many leaders like Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati, Mamta Banerjee, Jayalalitha, Naveen Patnayak, Laloo Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar, etc.
Unfortunately if you think about any of them being the prime minister of India, unfortunately you won’t find any of them.
The main reason being the fact that there are so many differences between all of them and they all are involved in the dirty politics in which they want to take benefit (financially and in the manner of being powerful). They all want to pull others from going ahead in the ladder which will go to the post of the PM of India.
When we think about Mulayam Singh Yadav, his recent comment on rape victims is really shameful. If you won’t give respect to women of India, you won’t be able to become the leader of the mass in India.
Similarly when you think about Mamta Banerjee, she is good as the CM of West Bengal, but her politics which actually revolves around getting benefits for Bengal will not be accepted by entire India. Similar is the condition with Jayalalitha and Naveen Patyanak. Both of them are a good CM.
One name which is different of the lot is of Nitish Kumar, the present CM of Bihar. But unfortunately when he decided to get away from NDA just because of the name of Narendra Modi as the PM candidate, it actually ruined his political career. I can still say that results in elections might vary, but as far the current scenario is that he and his party will suffer badly in this general election. Majorly the sentiments of common people are against him in Bihar.
If you do consider all the situations you will also think that at the moment no other option is effective as Narendra Modi. Fortunately or unfortunately, no other leaders are having the capability of touching the popularity which he is enjoying at the moment.
I can say that I am not at all aware about what will be the results of the general elections, but it is for sure that at the moment BJP & NDA led by Narendra Modi is clearly ahead of their competitors.
Though forget about the results and do focus on the dance of democracy which we are going to see these days on TV news channels. Do let me know your response about this post of mine in the form of comments. I would love to hear your opinion about it.
Hello. As I read through your article, I was surprised by the fact that I agree with most of what you have written.
I am myself in the process of writing a small piece on Arvind Kejriwal. I will send you the link once it’s posted and will appreciate your reaction on it.

Thanks a lot Nimi 🙂 I will definitely wait for it and share my opinion on it as well. Thanks for your visit and liking the content 🙂
We all make mistakes and you acting as the judge jury is not commendable , why he chose to fight NM did AK want to be the next PM are conjectures ,..I am apolitical all I think be it any party that has ruled our nation , they have not been able to give us stability peace and riots happen at the drop of a hat I am disillusioned with this dance of democracy .
I am a street photographer poet I am a Muslim born in India and I know one thing governance should help us progress , there should be law and order and the ruler should not be biased whatever his faith ideology.. and nationalism is notches above a mans religion or faith …
I have seen the 93 riots it still hurts and I promote Hinduism as Hope Hindutva a Message of Universal Peace .
Thanks wish you the very best..

Rightly said Firoze sir. I am really glad that you have gone through this post and shared your opinion about it. Though you will also accept the fact that his decision to fight against NM was the biggest mistake of his life. It is true that “all I think be it any party that has ruled our nation , they have not been able to give us stability peace and riots happen at the drop of a hat I am disillusioned with this dance of democracy” but then we can only hope about something, and I guess we hoped the same from Modi Jee.
I don’t want him to control the petrol prices, I just want him to develop such situation in which a poor person no matter of what religion they belongs, or of what caste they do belongs, should feel safety and should be able to live a happy life. If he can be able to bring hope in those poor people, he will be able to success as a political leader. I expected the same from Arvind Kejriwal, but only because he is so called secular leader, I would never forgive him for running away from Delhi.
