5 Tips for Self Improvement!
Why is it so hard to accept our own life? We want to improve ourselves, but then why it becomes so hard to accept ourselves and the life which we are leading?
Those who really want to follow the self improvement path; they must first need to satisfy themselves with the life which they are leading at the time.
If you are unable to satisfy yourself with the present, I am sure in past as well you will remain unsatisfied from your own life.
It is true that we cannot have all the wishes fulfilled in this life, but yes why don’t we remain happy with whatever we have than whatever we are not having?
I tweeted this day before that successful people are having this unique quality that they don’t undervalue what they are and overvalue what they are not. Those who do so always remain unsuccessful in their life.
So ideally here are 5 tips for self improvement which every person should follow in their life:
I am sure I have mentioned this plenty of times that if we really want to improve ourselves we must need to get rid of negative thoughts in our life. Undoubtedly negative thinking is like an avalanche.
Although I can say that it is really difficult to implement than saying, but if you start following it, you will surely feel good. In this hectic and busy life, we also need mental peace and that can only be achieved if we cannot have the negative thoughts in our life.
See, we all know that an empty or half filled glass can be seen as both ways, either the glass is half empty or the glass is half filled. So why should we look it as if it is an empty glass, instead look at it as it is half filled glass. At least half filled glasses are better than the empty glass and can save some life at emergency. What do you say?
So when you look at the situation of your life, you will realize that you have something’s which no one is and you misses something’s which are also required. But my point is that we should try to get those missing things, but not that much so that it can become difficult for our present life.
Let’s focus towards what we have. It might be possible that while trying for what we don’t have we might end with losing what we had too.
The toughest challenge for anyone who wants to do the self improvement things is to accept that I am not perfect.
It is a big truth of our life and we need to take it positively, but we don’t. Normally we feel bad about accepting this.
I guess who are a regular visitor of my blog, are familiar with my tendency of accepting the truth that I am not perfect. I don’t hesitate in accepting the fact that I am not perfect, but yes I am always trying to make myself perfect.
Why don’t we accept the fact that some things are impossible to change, and some things are not in our hand? If we can accept these things and move on, we will always remain happy in our life.
One fact of our life is that, no matter how hard we will try, still we won’t be able to make everyone happy.
If you start thinking about making everyone else happy, in the process you yourself will become unhappy.
I do accept the fact that I made my parents unhappy with my decision of marrying my life partner. It is not like that I won’t love my parents, but then when it comes about my life partner I strongly supported my decision and believe me after 4 years of our marriage anniversary I don’t have any regrets about it.
So the point is that if you really want to be happy with your life, you should stop trying to make everyone happy. Do support your decisions, and do make a practice of taking decisions which are right for you.
Buddy time is really precious and we should not ever waste it. Always try to do your best on whatever you are doing. No work is small or big in this world; it is your efforts which actually make it big or small.
I have seen that many people are not satisfied with their job; and usually try to waste their precious time on some useless stuff. But this is not a good way to deal with.
Live a life happily with whatever you have at present. No matter whatever you are doing, just do it with perfection.
Loyalty is something which is very much required for the peace of our life. Always try to be loyal to your family. This is a quality which will automatically bring the happiness in your life.
So those were the 5 quick tips for self improvement. Although all the points were something which I already discussed in so many blog posts, but still I am sharing them over here. Hope you all will like it. Do let me know about your feedback for this blog post.
I like the 2nd and 4th point, accepting not being perfect and not wasting time. I do agree that it does take a lot of unlearning to be someone who you really are. That too in a cultural tuning where right from our childhood we have been taught to uphold perfection as a rule and anything else as an exception. Something which we really miss out on is the reality and the beauty in going ahead and keeping things great, not perfect. And the second line of thought too about time being everything, that is the one resource in life which is most limited and nothing ever can do anything to replace it. Nice pointers Alok, thank you for the post 🙂
