Why Can’t We Develop Original Content?
I don’t know how many times I have mentioned about the importance of publishing original content in your website or blog. For almost all the blogs which I write on SEO tips, one of the most common point which I mention is about Original Content only.
You might check my blogs on some DIY SEO tips, where I mentioned that focus on page content, and I write original and informative content is the need of time. On the other hand in my blog on new approach towards online marketing after Panda and Penguin updates of Google, I primarily focused on creating useful content (which obviously means the Original one) for your website to fight against any penalty being put by Google.
Even with my other blog (on Tech Acid) some basic SEO tips which you might not ignore for long run, I clearly mentioned that uniqueness of content is very much required for the success of your online business. On the other hand with my blog on how to get more traffic to your website I emphasized that putting extra effort on preparing the content of your website is really crucial and returns maximum values as far as SEO is concerned.
To be very frank, I once lost my job too just because I did not compromised with the demand of the CEO of the company to put the copied content on a different domain of themselves only. While I rejected this idea of the same and the outcome came in the form of my exit from that company, but it never affected me. I always go ahead with the best practices of SEO and would never compromise on the same.
You might ask me after all what initiated me to write this blog post.
The response to the same is that I recently came through a blog. At first I found one quite interesting post over there on SEO. I really like them so much, the reason were:
- They have a very informative content, which was new for me that day.
- They have a very good domain name.
- They have a very good professional design of their blog.
All these above points attracted me badly, and I became a fan of them at the same moment. I did bookmark them as well.
Fortunately or unfortunately I came through one recent blog of theirs on Best 15 Easy Search Engine Ranking Tips to Improve Bing SEO, out of sudden I remembered that I might have gone through these content earlier as well. When I searched them in CopyScape, the result was a shock for me:
I was a bit shocked to see that they actually copied this article from one of the famous blog of webseoanalytics.com and never gave the credit as well.
It actually compelled my mouth wide open for few minutes.
I did another CopyScape search of their other article, through which I actually like them earlier, and the result was another shock for me, this article was on the topic of 8 important SEO steps during a website redesign, and its CS outcome was like this:
To my surprise this article was copied word by word from an article of search engine land, and it really shocked me badly.
The Bottom Line
The reason why I came up with this blog of mine was to let everybody else know that publishing duplicate content is actually an offense, and you won’t get anything in return. It is true that you might be able to build some reputation in other’s eye, but then it is of no use as despite having a professional look your website is actually a garbage site.
I might have also displayed the domain name of that particular blog over here, but then my purpose was not to say anyone guilty, I just wanted to let them know that you are doing mistake and you should take care of it.
I am sure all other bloggers will support me with this purpose; I just want to spread a concept in which every blogger will accept that they only posts original content over their website or blog.
Please don’t hesitate in sharing your comment about this. I will be eagerly waiting to get the response.
I try not to copy paste anything for my blog…Agree with you!
Thanks a lot Payal for your comments and appreciation, I am highly delighted that you like it. Glad to hear that you will also try the same 🙂

Thanks Remya, I am glad that you like it. Thanks for your comment.
I think there’s lack of creativity on the content writer’s part. Saying that a lot of people look at easy money via content writing. If they can’t handle it all at once they may resort to this scheme.
Copying in any form is wrong indeed. Be it a blog or website for that matter.
Thanks Sabeeha for your comment, yes you said it right that Copying in any form is wrong. Thanks for reading and loving the blog.
This mostly happens in case of Technology blogs. Other genres do need to rely on original content 🙂
Hey Puru, thanks for your comment at our blog. I am glad that you like this post, though I don’t think this tendency has anything to relate with the niche of the blog. It frankly depends on the mind set of the blogger and nothing else.
Hi Alok, Completely agree and follow this principle in life. Thanks for emphasizing this.
Sometime in the rush of the things people give in to plagiarizing which is to be avoided.
