When you have a blocked creative mind!!
The creative blooded people- the artist breed often has this syndrome- of mind blockage – when we can’t think of something/anything and we still want to do it—the art that we are a master of!!
This is called Mind Blockage! Every artist suffers from this syndrome- so there’s nothing to panic. Just follow a few simple suggestions given below and probably you can start afresh—scribbling on your paper or painting the world!!
Be restless
Already undergoing a mind blockage? – DO NOT rest! Being restless is a perfect symptom of the recovery phase which shows that you may come out of it very soon! Keep trying even if you have to crumple a million papers – it’s totally worth of keeping the mind active and focused in that direction – so as to get the artistic hormones back on active mode!
Keep Looking
All the artists are art lovers and all of us do have some personal choices and inclination of the kind of art we like. So keep looking, look at your ideal artists’ creations, surf internet, see your fellow artists stuff and in all this process keep your eyes wide open for the smaller details- because you never know where you will strike the golden idea of your new artwork. Remember, an idea inspired but transformed is creativity and not plagiarism.
Accept a challenge
Give commitments for your creative juices if you are a professional artist! Do not be scared of – what will happen if I could not create it? Mostly artists have a vital personality and love to show off their skills to the world! Sometimes art comes to us when we are in a challenging situation- for e.g. a poet may be having mind blockage but one day he suddenly falls into a poetic conversation where his friends are posting instant poems; he might also be tempted to do so and thus will post a poem of his own— n Drum rolls, here goes the Mind Blockage into the drain.
Creativity doesn’t go anywhere during a mind blockage, it just needs a little bit of stirring to resume!!
Go back to your fans
Your friends and fans are your biggest strength. Accept it or not but 50% of your next art is because of their feedback and compliments. These people are also art lovers, fall into a conversation with them, and discuss something that you both like- about art and its various perspectives. This will clear your mind and hence the blockage will evaporate.
The Right time
Art will come to you but at the right time. Let the hunger of creating something new, get cooked completely inside you! Remember, only ripe fruits fall from the trees! Therefore wait, give yourself a break and give the artist within you some air of refreshment. Art will surely come out but when the thought behind has matured enough to be given a shape!
Good luck with breaking the blocks!!
