Some Tweets Which Can Cause Suspension For you in Twitter!

A few days back, when I was working for my new post on my Technology Blog, I realized that I did not write anything about social media or search engine optimization recently on I News India. Out of sudden, I realized that I should write something on social media.

Meanwhile those who are the regular readers of my blog I News India, are not aware that my wife too started one blog especially on her interest on Social Media, and it’s name is Social Media Tricks. Although she started this but then due to her pregnancy she did not get the time to write anything, but I am sure that very soon she will start writing regularly for her blog.

Coming back to social media, during recent few years sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. has evolved as one of the most important marketing tool. As I am already working in the field of internet marketing, so I can easily understand the growing use of these websites.

In my opinion using social media websites is not at all a bad concept, though I don’t emphasize much to rely on them badly, reason behind this is that, firstly I am mostly working with Indian clients, and getting quality leads from India through social media websites was not an easy task, but yes during last one or two years, in India as well, these sites has created a boom and thus I can easily see the growing trends of getting useful leads for my clients through these sites. Second reason why I don’t prefer to depend so badly on social media websites is that in my opinion giving quality time on your own website is much better than investing time on some other websites. Though investing a fair bit of amount of time is not a bad thing as far as social media websites are concerned.

The best thing with social media websites are that firstly they all are free, and second you just need to establish your identity over there and you will get automatically be liked and followed by many people, and especially by those who are interested for your niche only.

Coming back to my post, why I decided to write something on some tweets which can create the suspension of your account in twitter is because of a very recent incident which happened with one of the famous British journalist Guy Adams. He is a well known journalist and a bit popular on twitter as well. A few days back he tweeted his anger against the NBC coverage of the London Olympics 2012, and out of sudden, famous micro-blogging website twitter banned his account.

This sudden incident provoked the discussion among many people, weather this decision of banning his account by twitter was right or wrong. Many people started discussing whether it is the time for social users to find a new platform or not? Although, twitter later apologized the suspension incident. Frankly, as per reports, it was not the criticism of the NBC which caused his suspension, rather it happened as Guy Adams revealed the email address of one of the NBC executive in the tweet. Frankly it’s against the Terms of Service of twitter, and thus twitter took this action.

Many a times, while creating a new account in any of the websites, we simply did not care about reading the TOS of the same, we just ignore the same and click on the checkbox which asks us to agree the terms and condition of the same website.

I personally know a few people around here, who created the account in Google Adsense program, which is in fact a great platform to earn through your website, but they did not even aware about any of the TOS of the same, and later their accounts got banned just because of the violations. Anyways, we are not going to discuss the same over here.

So, here are a few information about your tweets, which can cause you to face any kind of suspension, and I would always suggest you all to avoid doing such things.

Personal Information

Don’t share any personal information of someone, without the proper permission from the same. You are not supposed to share the email address or the mobile number of an individual, which can create problem for his/her privacy. Doing so can suspend your account at twitter.

Sharing Credit Card Details

You are not allowed to share the credit card details of either yours or of someone else too. It might also suspend your account.

Sharing Social Security Number

Posting the SSN of an individual without his or her permission or knowledge is also an offense, and might suspend your account.

Threats or Violence Related Stuff

As per the twitter TOS sharing tweets which can directly threat someone or sharing tweets of any kind of violence against others is an offence. This can cause the suspension of your account as well.

Illegal Activities, Pornography or Copyright

Twitter is too strict against any kind of illegal activities, pornography, or copyright infringement tweets. Better not to tweet any tweets which can be considered as any of the same.

Following 2000 Accounts

Twitter also imposes a temporary suspension when someone follows around 2000 followers. At that time, the same user will need some more followers so that he can follow some more people. Actually twitter strictly follows the balance between following and follower ratio. So be careful enough.

So these were some of the activities which can suspend your account, while I would suggest everyone, to strictly follow the terms of service of any website, which you are using. It will always remain safe for you.
