Top 7 Honeymoon Destinations in India!
Around one year back I published one blog on top 5 honeymoon destinations, while I write that post on 20th of June 2011, just one day after our first marriage anniversary. Though due to some problems we did not get the time to celebrate it properly, but still we visited Agra, and saw the Taj Mahal, the symbol of love.
That time only I was thinking to spend our second marriage anniversary at the same place where we spend our honeymoon. And surprisingly on this 19th June 2012, which was our second marriage anniversary, we went to the same place, which according to us is the best honeymoon destinations in India, and there only I decided to write one blog on some top honeymoon destinations in India.
People get really confused about their first honeymoon, where they should actually spend the most wonderful time of their life? People get married in different months of the year which can have a lot of effect on your choice of destinations. For summers you will have a great time in a hill location and in winters it would be some different location. So, in order to make your choice easier here is the list of top 7 honeymoon destinations in India.
The list preparation becomes a mind-boggling task when every individual has a different opinion on the same subject, so was the case with this subject (I asked around 10 to 20 of my friends). The following data has been prepared after considering some popular travel portals, tourist data analysis and consultation with some leading travel agencies too. By putting a lot of hard work in this, I present you the top 7 honeymoon destinations in India.
Lakshadweep
This is a great place for a newly wed to start up their life with passionate vigor. The place is naturally beautiful and relatively secluded locale and that is the reason of recommending Lakshadweep islands. The place is purely amazing and full of life which has made it a popular honeymoon destination for all these years. It is a great place to begin one’s married life as it provides an aesthetically beautiful environment. You will find life in everything, in the golden white sandy beaches, in the blue water, in the starry night sky and in the coconut grooves. It will provide you the most romantic ambiance and get ready to get you soak your souls in the tranquil beauty of this place.
The major attractions of this place are Kavaratti Islands, Minicoy Islands, Kalpeni Islands, Agatti Islands, Kadmat Islands, Amindivi Islands, Bangaram Islands and Andretti Islands.
Goa
It is the land of sea and sun and has been able to attract newlywed couples from all over the world, especially during winters it’s a perfect honeymoon place. The Goa is mainly popular for its carefree atmosphere it provides; you can enjoy the life to its fullest. The place is romantic as well as adventurous. If you are the adventure kind, the place provides some of the most excellent water adventure sports. And the other things you can look for are cruise riders, who may know why cruise ships are always white, beach side parties, casinos and the wide variety of food and drinks. You will find plenty of things to do in this place. You can spend your time on secluded beaches, beach resorts, crowded beaches or shacks, which ever you like. Goa is a place where you are allowed to follow your heart and forget all your worries completely.
The major attractions of this place are Anjuna beach flee market, churches, Bhagvan Mahavir wildlife sanctuary, Dr. Salim Ali bird sanctuary, Dudhsagar waterfall and springs, Goa carnival and Old Goa.
Kerala
It is said to god’s own country. And the reason behind it is that this place is full of nature and greenery which gives it a divine presence, and you know what, Kerala was my dream destination for my own honeymoon, but unfortunately I did not get a chance to make it possible. If one has dreamed of tropical honeymoon like me then no other place stands in comparison with Kerala. It is the best tropical honeymoon destination and the scenic beauty of this place gives you the most romantic atmosphere. You can enjoy the hill stations of Munnar, beaches of Kovallam and houseboats on Kumarakom. I do not think one will find a better combination than this. Each and every place is attractive in its own sense and is able to hold your interest for a long time. It is one of the most romantic destinations, the nature and greenery adds up to the charm of this place. However, in case of any unfortunate accident, you can seek the help of a personal injury lawyer to receive proper compensation. Hire a well-experienced Bakersfield, CA personal injury lawyers. Nainital
It is the typical romantic destination for newly wed couples. The hill station is quite romantic with its pleasant weather and scenic beauty. The place offers a lovely scenery, enchanting lakes and romantic boat rides; all this has made it a highly privileged destination, especially during summers.
A lazy evening stroll with your partner in a place surrounded by hills, nothing can be better than this. Mall roads of Nainital are quite popular for shopping and evening walks. You can collect mementos of the place. Double ride on the back of horse seems quite a romantic idea and you can even go for cable rides to have a view of the snow. All this seems really romantic; the place offers a perfect ambiance for honeymoon.
Ooty
This place offers you a very romantic honeymoon. There are amazing places to visit here; Rose Garden, Botanical Garden, Dodabetta peak and Ooty lake. The thick shola, tea plantations and eucalyptus forest dominate the Nilgiri Mountains. Shopping for handicrafts and essential oils is a must, when one arrives at Ooty. You can also enjoy the south Indian food. You can have a good time visiting the locales and take some trekking routes for an enjoyable time. The best thing about Ooty is its weather which provides love in the air.
Darjeeling
The special attraction of this place will be the Tibetan influence. The place offers young couples bubbling waterfalls and green picturesque views of hills. One of my life’s sadest part is that I spent around 15-16 years just near to Darjeeling only, and one of my house was only around 200 KM far from Darjeeling, but never get the chance to visit Darjeeling. Hopefully with my wife later I can be able to visit Darjeeling.
You can enjoy the walk on terraced farms and sloppy tea estates; it would be the most memorable time of your life. You can visit temples and monasteries and receive divine blessings of a happy married life ahead. Other things you will be able to enjoy are cable car rides, rivers, local food and gardens.
Shimla
The last but not the least is the most romantic place of India and one of the most favorite honeymoon destinations of my wife, and that is Shimla. You won’t become surprised to know that we too spend our honeymoon in Shimla only, and this is the same place which I mentioned at the beginning of the post.
Also known as the Queen of the Hills, Shimla is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is one of the finest places I have ever seen. You can visit the Mall Road, The Ridge, Jakhu Hill, Tara Devi Mandir, Sankat Mochan Mandir, and many other places. But if you visit Shimla and don’t see the Kufri Hills then you must have missed everything.
Although I made this list of seven most romantic and honeymoon destinations in India, but frankly there are so many other locations too available out here in India which are also popular as far as honeymoon destinations are concerned. Some of them include Kashmir, Gangtok, Manali, etc. I will try to build one more list which will cover all other destinations.
