A True Love Story!
They met each other for the first time in their coaching. She had recently completed her schooling, and aspired to be an engineer. She was though selected in some of the colleges, but she dreamed something higher than that and she decided to drop a year, to prepare for IITJEE. She was good in studies in her school, and always used to be in the top three students in her class. Slim by boy, prey by face and attractive by eyes, she was a perfect hoes for the guys at her school.
She had a long list of guys who had proposed her, since she was adolescent. But she always used to give away a distant look .Every new proposal brought up a smile on her face; her smiles were pleasing for those guys.
“Tani, you look so cute, I want to spend my whole life with you.”-That was something which she got one after another.
“Thank you so much, but GO TO HELL!!”- That was her reply always.
She always believed, true love is extinct in today’s world. Whenever her friends used to quote questions regarding her ruthless attitude, she replied as, “Whenever I would find someone, who loves me truly, I would definitely accept him.”
That was actually the induction of what actually happened around her, relationships in the city of Delhi, were normally a heartthrob that ended in a span of months. She never wanted to have such a relationship, in her life.
He was the topper at his school, he was very simple guy, someone who never used to show off, or hale after girls, he had joined his coaching to study, he had his aim, to get selected in IIT, and he was sure of doing it.
Their coaching started in the month of July, when it had already begun raining. It is said that rains always bring love, and rains always brings two souls together. The power of rains cramps up all the maneuvers and doubts that actually happen to be in someone’s mind.
They both
And so it happened one day. The both non believers of true love bumped into each other one rainy evening. Tani had just got over with her classes and Shreyas was entering through the gate. But then every love story begins with a fight and so did theirs. Unfortunately he crashed his bike into hers. She looked at him angrily, giving him that scornful look.
“I am really sorry”, he said.
She picked up her bike and said, “Don’t try to act smart okay. I know you boys very well. You bump into girls so that you can flirt with her later on.”
“I am not that kind of a guy. I didn’t do it intentionally.”
She gave him that ‘I know you guys very well’ look and headed on. He went ahead too. Both of them met and began to hate each other instantly but then cupid had some other plans.
They hated each other to the core. He didn’t show it but she left no stone unturned inorder to show that she didn’t like him at all. On Sundays, they had test. She saw him dropping his pen but made no attempt to give it back to him, She knew he always just one pen. He searched for sometime and then asked for a pen to a few girls whom she had already instructed to decline his request. He had no option than to go to her for help.
“I don’t know why road side cheapsters come to give a test when they actually have no plan to get selected at some good institutes. Here, you may use my pen in case you know a few answers. I am always kind, you know.”
This is what he got in reply from her. He could sense the humiliation but then he took it as a bitter sweet from the most beautiful girl of the coaching. And no doubt, he hated her even more.
Soon they were shifted to the same batch and both of them tried to cross question each other during the doubt session. Even the class was aware of their rivalry now.
There was an internal war to excel more within them and it was no surprise that both of them got selected in IIT-Mumbai.
As usual the rain Gods were super happy with Mumbaikars and she again got bumped into him.
“What are you doing here?”
She asked hoping that he wouldn’t say that he had got selected in IIT- Mumbai.
“I am a student here.”
She almost felt like a big burden of stones falling over her. She didn’t want her biggest rival here again. But all bad things do come to an end.
The ragging session had still not got over in IIT. She was ragged like everyone else but it affected her the most. Her nights went away weeping for home daily. Even at IIT, she had become an eye candy. Evey senior was after her. She now felt irritated at being proposed by every other boy and the way they used to look at her, she just wanted to give all of them a punch.
And then one day, he saw a tear drop her eye while she walked past him. He knew that there was something wrong. He didn’t like her for sure but humanity does exist in this world.
He went running to her.
“What happened?”
“Nothing”, she replied.
“I know there is something wrong. You can tell me.”
“I’ve already told you that theirs is absolutely nothing wrong.”
“Tani, I know we haven’t been on good terms till now but we can forget our rivalry and be friends. We are from the same city and it helps to have a friend from home with whom you can share your thoughts. I am not forcing you my friendship on you. It’s just a proposal of friendship. You can think over it.”
She suddenly felt a gush of tears from her eyes and ran away from there. She herself didn’t know why all this was happening to her but she couldn’t control herself. She now felt guilty for what she had done to him.
In the evening she sent him a message.
Hi
Hi..May I know who is this.
Hi Shreyas, this is Tani. I got your number from Vaibhav.
Okay. So how are you now?
I am better. I am sorry to have run away so abruptly from there
That’s alright. I wanted to tell you something.
Yes, go ahead.
“That day in coaching I didn’t really bump into you intentionally. It all happened so suddenly that I just couldn’t give you an explanation. And moreover, you were not ready to listen to me.”
“It’s okay Shreyas. Let’s forget it now. I am sorry for all that I said to you. We are friends now.”
And thus two rivals were now good friends….
