iPhone 5 Will Have NFC Technology in 2012!
The much awaited Apple product, iPhone 5 is all set to be launched this summer. This next-generation iPhone has many features that were being predicted such as faster processor, 10 mega pixel camera, mixed color profiles and 8mm longer than the previous iPhones. Among them Near Field Connection (NFC) is one such feature of this iPhone.
NFC is certain set of standards for the smartphones and other similar devices to establish connection with each other by touching or by bringing them closer; the distance should specifically be of few centimeters to enable the data transfer.
It is basically a chip that helps in transferring the information wirelessly. The NFC technology is not a new thing in the world; it has been around for about 20 years. But it was not implemented in a practical and commercial way such that the consumers could use them.
Apple will be entering into a partnership with MasterCard- the world leading provider of payment processing, to cater the Near Field Connection technology in iPhone 5.
By default the NFC chip will store the information of your credit card or debit card in the iPhone and you will be able to make your credit card transition from your iPhone itself. No need of swapping your card; just place the iPhone over the point of sale terminal of the machine (which must be NFC enabled) and all your transitions will be performed.
Alternatively, if you are a business personal and you have to receive payments from some customers you can collect them through your iPhone via your credit card.
The most convenient thing being you don’t have to carry cash or multiple credit cards with you; your iPhone will become your credit card. NFC transitions are even considered to be safer than other card payment methods. You don’t have to worry about typing the pin or signing any documents for the purchase, the NFC technology will take care of everything. This NFC technology will be digitalized and will be available to the users in the form of an app; which will be having the capability of reading all the mobile transitions.
Apple has this magic of transforming the digital industry with its products; no one earlier paid for digital music but with the introduction iTunes store, things started to change. Prior to the invention of iPhones no one in the market cared about Mp3 players or moved around with smartphones. Apple revolutionizes the lives of masses.
Although NFC technology is still in its native stage of development but it has tremendous potentials to improve the monetary aspects of our lives. Especially for those who are addicted with the use of smartphones.
So, it is not a surprise that Apple wants to enter the arena of NFC and be the first to cater them in its devices. And it would be a matter of time that everyone around will be following them. Apparently iPhone 5 will the first smartphone to provide the NFC technology; previously humors were raised over iPhone 4 and 4S to cater this service but unfortunately neither of them did.
