I News India in the Year 2011!

Although I started this website I News India in the year 2007 and worked hard in the year 2008, but lost a bit of momentum in the year 2009 and 2010. Even in the year 2011, I did not get much time to work on the site, but still managed to post a few articles on a regular basis and thus being able to manage the momentum.

For the first time, I am really happy to say this; our website got around more than 300K unique visitors during the year 2011. I am really delighted to see this. I am also delighted that despite of my very hectic schedule I anyhow manage to publish around 138 articles during this year. There are a few guest articles too, which I received from many people and I published a few of them on the website too.

Total number of visitors which I News India received during the year 2011 was of 338,877 which are quite good compared to last year’s 164,934. Actually it increased by a margin of 105.46% as compared to last year’s visitors, which in fact is really quite good.

Although I tried reducing the bounce rate of my website, and get a huge success in the second half of the year, but still overall it reached to a level of 85.57% which is not good as compared to last year’s 83.91%. This year, I mean in the year 2012, I will try my best to bring it down to 80%. The avg. time spent on the website is also not good compared to last year’s performance.

After seeing this data my prime target it to get around 500K unique visitors during the year 2012, along with reducing the bounce rate to below 80% and to increase the avg. time on site to a level of around 60+ seconds.

Glad to see the traffic source of the website I News India. You would be surprised to hear that 61.93% of the entire traffic came through Search Engines, which is actually 5.52% higher than the previous year 2010. On the other hand the direct traffic too increased by 17.23% and reached to a level of 11.66%, which is a sign that now many people are aware about the domain name www.inewsindia.com and they use to visit our site on a regular basis. The matter of slight concern is the traffic through referring sites, which actually decreased by 15.80% from the previous year. I know the prime reason behind this downfall and it is because I did not get much time to work on the sites like Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon etc. through which I use to get a good number of traffic in the past.

I am also delighted to announce that Google itself sent around 194,325 visitors to I News India, which is really satisfying as far as the site size is concerned. Also in the year 2010 Google only sent around 77,246 visitors and hence it is quite good compared to that. The most used keywords which sent traffic to I News India were benefits of reading, love marriage vs arranged marriage, importance of reading, how to gain confidence, and advantages of reading. Thus you can see that 10 benefits of reading was the most searched article of my website, but yes the most popular story was 15 sexiest Indian women.

As far as the popularity of the posts is concerned here are the top five posts of my site which received good amount of visits:

1. 15 Sexiest Indian Women: It received 123,768 page views compared to 42,377 of the last year, which is seriously quite good.
2. 10 Benefits of Reading: One of my most favorite articles, it received 56,662 page views. Compared to last year’s 33,904 views this is quite good.
3. Love Marriage Vs Arranged Marriage: One of the most talked about article of my website, which in fact is very near to my heart, has around 37,738 page views, which is actually quite better as compared to last year’s 7,882 views.
4. The Simplest Way to Lose Weight: Lately it reached to the top five most popular posts of my website, and I am really glad that it has 11,105 page views which is actually quite well compared to last year’s 1,778 views.
5. 10 Sexiest Eyes of India: Although now when I see this article I think that this article can be much better than what it is at the moment, the reason behind this thinking is the images which I put on this, the time when I created this article I was not at all aware about using any photo editing tools, but now I am a bit good editor of the images, and thus I am planning to re-write this article in coming days and display some great images in it. Still I am delighted that this article got around 8,904 page views, as compared to last year’s 4,273 views it is really good one.

To end the very first post of New Year 2012, let me tell you about the countries from where I News India got visitors. The prime sources of my visitors were from India only, which give me around 139,420 visitors, as compared to last year’s 63,214 it is more than double. Second country which gave I News India more visitors is United States which sent 55,604 visitors this year, while UK being the third one which sent around 29,361 visitors. This year my target will be to double the traffic from these 3 countries and also provide them the more interesting and useful articles. Hope to achieve the target, I am looking towards your comment on the same.
