RIM will launch BlackBerry PlayBook in 16 Countries!

RIM will be extending the availability of PlayBook by Blackberry all over the world. It will be available via shipping in the next 30 days in the following countries; Netherlands, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Australia, Germany, Spain, Singapore, UAE, France, Mexico, Indonesia, Italy, Colombia and India.

PlayBook by Blackberry was launched on 19th April in US. The product has been doing reasonably well; the reason behind it is its integration with Blackberry. The QNX tablet is of 7 inch and is made up of good quality hardware. The Blackberry PlayBook has performed relatively well after its first release as the reports have suggested. An analyst from RBC, Mike Abramsky from the department of capital markets remarked that RIM could have sold about 50 thousand tabs on the very first day of its launch. Even if the company hits the target of 5 lac shipments, still it will be standing far behind with companies like Apple. Apple sold 25 million iPad units since its release, told in the Worldwide Developers Conference.

The only reason for its non-adoption by the audience is the lack of applications like contacts, email, calendar etc. all these are an essential part of a professional grade. The tabs full dependence on Blackberry phone through bridge application is another problem it has been facing and the tab also lacks in QNX applications.

RIM is making great efforts to cover up these deficiencies and numbers of applications are under the process of development for the PlayBook Tablet. Native applications are expected to make appearance in the near future. RIM is facing a hard competition from iPad 2 and other android based tablets available in the market. It is expected that by opening the PlayBook tablet to big markets like India, China and Indonesia, the sale will be boosted. People of these countries are already Blackberry users and they will readily accept the tablet as well.

For the time being RIM has been asking its PlayBook users to get their tabs updated to v1.0.5.2342, this will enable them to take advantage of the fix adobe which was said to be having vulnerability issues in the past. The update provides you with an updated Adobe Flash Player with better visual plug ins. One can download it by using OTA or you can even check for the updates in your settings menu under software updates. People buying the PlayBook tablet after June 12 will not have to apply this update as it has already been upgraded. These models have only Wi-Fi facility but RIM plans to launch 4G models in the later part of this year.

Blackberry PlayBook is quite different from its competition as it has a wide 7-inch display, 1GHz dual-core processor along with 1080p HD camera. You can use it for clicking picture or for video conferencing as well. The RIM tablet is available with different storage options ranging from 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

Waiting for its release in 16 countries and let us see how the performance goes.
