Most people want to lower their bills but for the most part at least currently sometimes going lowering your bills is not as easy as it sounds.I have looked at eco-friendly and green technology alternatives and adapted where it makes financial sense. Considering the dwindling reserves of coal all over the world, I think we have to switch to solar and wind power sooner or later, sooner the better of course.
The government has to take the initiative here and provide incentives for people to go green. In USA the government subsidizes solar panels by upto 30% of actual cost. Moreover, they have grid tie system where you can sell excess solar power back to utility during the day. There are no such provisions here in India although India has much more shortfall of electricity than USA and can benefit more.
We have to think about the future too. If everyone thinks about only the present, our future generations will have to live in the dark.
