Allowing Moderation of Comments on Your Blog is good or bad?
So you are the proud owner of a great blog and usually write a few blog posts daily. You know how much difficult it is to write a post and then get visitors to it. A few months back I wrote one interesting post on how to increase the blog readership? The last point in that post is about the importance of getting the response.
Well, it is a fact that more the number of responses on a blog post, the more it is considered as popular. Many people assume that blogs which allow comments without any moderation are more close to the heart of their readers.
Well, many of my friends always ask me whether allowing comments is really good or bad. Frankly speaking, there are people who will say that anyone who see the line like “your comment is awaiting moderation”, will hurt the feeling of the readers.
One more point which many bloggers believe is that moderating a comment and leaving the commenter to wait for it, stops him to spread the blog post to his network. If you ask me then it is really true that when I see that my comment is awaiting moderation on any blog then I normally leave the blog till the time it did not get approved. It means that many people hesitate to comment on other blog posts or comments when they found that their first comment is waiting for moderation.
On the other hand there are some more than genuine reasons to allow stopping comments for moderation. On one of my post some one posted a comment against a reputable person and that person filed the case against the commenter, and it created problem for my blog too, so allowing comments some time might create problems for the site owner too.
On the other hand there are many spammers who do submit spam comments and it is really bad to allow those links or content on your blog. So if you ask me I will always suggest that allowing the moderation of comment is really good. I don’t think that any genuine commenter will mind that the blog owner will moderate his comment, so there is no harm in allowing the moderation of the comment.
What are the effects of having comment on an awaiting moderation mode? Will that make think inside a spa toilet seat
It is a very bad idea
Thanks Caverta, for your comment on my website.
