Pre Midlife Crisis

Its again that time of the year which many despise-exams. It’s during these months that most colleges hold their exams and all the canteens and movie halls go deserted as students prepare for exams. But the scene is always different for the ones in their last year. They suffer the biggest dilemma that is what to do next.  Sometimes the confusion is so much so that students suffer from a sort of pre midlife crisis.

Lifestyle change: the biggest thing which the students have to deal with is the sudden lifestyle change. In college a student just has to study and enjoy life with his friends. When in college a student is used to hanging out with friends and enjoying life. But as soon as the college comes to an end, the thought of getting out and making a life on their own can be very challenging. It can obviously be quite disturbing for a person to work 9-10 hours a day when all he is used to is meeting his friend’s everyday or sleeping in the lectures!

What to do next syndrome: after the college ends, most of the students have no clue what to do next. This is mainly because most of the students enter college into a rush, if the college is good they get admission without thinking much that if they really want to pursue the course or not. So when the college ends, most students are in dilemma as to what to do next. Well there is a little relief as they have lots of options to choose from. The most preferred choice is to opt for a PG course. Its only after the undergraduate course ends that most students realize that this is not what they want to do. So opt for a PG course with specialization which you want to pursue.

Follow your heart: there are many students who want to pursue their dreams but due to parental pressure have to abide by whatever their parents want for them. If you really believe that you would be able to do good in a field then start your career in that field, irrespective of the course you have done because few years down the line weightage is given to your work experience rather than the degrees you hold.
