5 Causes of weight gain!

Weight gain is probably one problem which is giving many people sleepless nights these days. With increased awareness about weight problems, people have come to know that how dangerous their excess can be for them. So rather than gaining weight and later repenting it, here are 5 causes of weight gain, so read on and try to avoid them.

  1. Crash dieting: a few years back women swore by it. Whenever any function or event is nearing, just don’t eat and lose weight to look slim at the event-this is a big myth. Doing crash dieting and starving yourself would initially make you lose a few kilos, but after that you will not be able to reduce any weight because it would slow down our metabolism and a result you will not be able to lose any more weight.
  2. Stressful life: living under constant stressful conditions is another major factor which contributes to weight gain. When you are stressed out your body starts storing fats. Also most people, especially women tend to binge on food when they are under stress, which again increases weight.
  3. Erratic sleeping pattern: sleeping for 6-8 hours a day is not only essential for your beauty, but also for maintaining your weight. If you suffer from lack of sleep then better seek medical help as it could lead to weight gain. Also, if you work late at night, try to get the adequate sleep at least in the day.
  4. Living on restaurant food: no matter how bad it tastes or much you are bored of it, a home cooked meal is any day better than food bought from outside. If you like certain dishes at the restaurant, try to make them at home yourself. When you do that, you will use fresh oil, vegetable and other ingredients which would account for a healthy meal. You never know what type of oil or vegetables are being used in your neighborhood restaurant.
  5. Sweet tooth: ok so you like sweets, but try to control your urge and have them only once in a while. Sugar contains glucose which gives you instant energy. So when you consume sweets, you are taking in a lot of calories and the more you take the more time it’ll take you to burn them off.
