I News India in the year 2008!

The year 2008 was too good for us as we have started our website I News India on 28th October 2007. The initial idea was to develop a small blog with daily updates on the news from India and globe.

In total we posted 903 articles on our website in the year 2008. If you compare this to the 6 posts of the year 2007 then it is a hike of 150.5% in total. If we are going to follow the same trend then we will have to post 1,35,902 posts in the year 2009. We are not going to compare our data from the year 2007 as during that tenure we did not worked at all.

Total number of Unique Visitors which our website got is 153,759, which is too good considering the fact that it was the first active year of our website. More importantly this data is available from the 3rd March of the year 2008. Due to some technical problem we lost the data of the site from the duration of Oct 2007 to the 2nd March 2008. Most interesting thing is that we got around 65% visitors from the search engines and 27% from the referring sites. Digg is the biggest referral site, while Google is the biggest organic traffic provider of our website. Digg sent around 8% of the total traffic while Google sent the 55% traffic. Visitors are coming from India, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Pakistan, Germany and United Arab Emirates. These are the countries which sent around more than 1000 UV. Other than these Singapore, Norway, Malaysia, Philippines, France etc. too sent good number of visitors.

The most viewed article from our site was Sixth pay commission report approved, an I-Day gift and Govt issued notification for Sixth pay commission report. The most talked about articles on our website was Ghajini Vs. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi: A New Year Treat which got 115+ comments and Irfan Pathan stumped in Shivangi’s Love which got 77 comments till today.

We are looking forward to the year 2009, so that we can serve our purpose with more meaning and with more intensity. On the occasion of New Year 2009, we want to wish a Happy and Prosperous New Year ahead to all of our visitors and we want to say SORRY to those people who any how felt disembarrassed or hurt with the content of our website.
