Do you believe on Astrology?
Ria was 22 years old and her parents had already started having nightmares about her marriage. Someone told them about a great astrologer who happened to be in town for some time. They rushed to know the fate of their daughter from the astrologer.
The astrologer asked for Ria’s date and time of birth and told them some general attributes about Ria. Little did the gullible and hassled parents know that they were being taken for a ride. He told them that she would definitely get engaged in coming 2 weeks. With new hopes up their sleeves, the happy couple went home. And then it became a vicious circle for the poor parents. Two weeks became 4 weeks and nothing happened. They went to the astrologer again and he assured them that they would get good news in the next month. Month after month they kept fooling themselves until it dawned on them, after a span of I year, that it was useless to waste their time, money and energy in going to the astrologer and it was time that they pumped up their own efforts in finding a good match for their daughter.
This is not just the story of just Ria and her parents. This is a reality of every second person on this earth. Astrology offers a number of things which many people find very desirable: information and assurance about the future, a way to be absolved of their current situation and future decisions, and a way to feel connected to the entire cosmos. Most of those who visit an astrologer end up feeling satisfied and feel that they have benefited. What this really means is not that astrology has accurately predicted the person’s future, but rather it means that visiting an astrologer or having a horoscope cast can be a fulfilling and personally satisfying experience. You are told relatively flattering things about your character and life, and in the end you are naturally pleased that someone cares about you.
I am not refuting the possibility of the authenticity of some astronomers. There have been great future predictors like Nostradamus whose books are being decoded till now because of the accuracy with which he had predicted some of the greatest events of the world. But nowadays it has become a lucrative business for people to proclaim their cosmic powers and dupe innocent people. Just imagine how convenient it would be if every second person could predict the future. Won’t every one of us be able to take control of our lives completely then? We would have the power to be the masters of our destiny. Who would believe in God? Should we raise these people to the pedestal of the Almighty? Have we ever thought that it is because our immaturity that these people are becoming stronger and stronger. Do we ever try to find out how through and learned a particular astronomer is?
It is thus our responsibility to gauge the genuineness of these people so that we can save ourselves from being conned.
Sorry, the answer to your question is – i don’t believe in astrology and the astrologers. All astrologers are fake.
